I was originally looking at around 1.5 carats but decided to bump it up a bit. There are 2 diamonds that I'm interested in and would appreciate your opinion on these. Thanks again!

Playing around with the HCA tool, you get different numbers depending on if you use Angle or % for the Crown and Pavilion. Which one do you usually use? % or Angle?

Diamond 1 - I kinda like this 1 more than the 2nd but HCA came back 1.8 with Excellent Light Return and the rest only at Very Good. From the light image does it seem that the diamond is leaking light under the table?

ASET & IS for #2 are better, but you have to be the judge with your own eyes. Have you seen the stone in person? In video?

I would prefer #2, the angle combo is just slightly better than #1. Plus #1 has a number of inclusions that I would prefer to avoid in a stone (the knot and cavity). IS images for both look good however, #1 I think is cut better based on the hearts image.

I like the angles on #2 better. I'd consider the IS results similar. The lowers are the same at 75%, but #2 presents with slightly larger arrows. All told, I think #2 nudges out #1.

No, unfortunately I haven't seen these diamonds in person.

Sounds like #2 is the way the go. If you guys don't mind, I have 1 more diamond that I'm looking at and again would appreciate your feedback.

Diamond 3 - Slightly larger diamond w/ ASGL report. The feathers seems to be at the edges (I circled the areas that looks like where they placed the feathers. Not sure would that be of any concern.

To my* eyes, better than #1, but not as good as #2. There appears to be consistent light leakage under the table, but I could be wrong. The light pink under the table is a red flag, to me*
Still, better than #1. If that helps at all...

To me, #3 looks better than #2. #2 has some digging around the edges.
I also prefer small feathers at the edges than a large crystal on the table.

If you think #3 has more leakage, it should not be significant. Please note that the backlighting is stronger in #3 IS than in #2 IS, so any leakage you see in #3 is a bit exaggerated.

But all these three stones are really good. It comes down to the price.

Man, you can tell the backlighting based on the pictures? Pros at work...

The price difference between #2 and #3 is about $600. #2 has G color and VS2 but #3 is about .5 carat bigger with VS1 color H.

I do like #3 because it looks cleaner on paper.

Wait? Point five carat? Like a half a carat? What is the diameter of #3 and you said it has AGS report. Is it 0 for cut grade, light performance, polish and symmetry?

The specs and plot for diamond 3 look like they’d hit AGS0 for light performance. If #3 is bigger but is only more expensive by a few hundred bucks I am wondering whether it has a discount due to the presence of fluorescence.

Ahh crap...sorry. I meant 0.05 carat.
Yeah it's 0 across the board.

I'm guessing it's just the larger 0.05 carat size. Fluorescence is none.

Ok. Glad you cleared up the carat difference!!!
