Hi there,

I'm planning to get a ~1ct oval diamond from BE, but i'm trying to pick a setting. I've narrowed it down to the following choices so far, but would appreciate any input as to what looks best and as to what will be the most durable. Also, should I do white gold or platinum? I'm really overwhelmed so thanks for your input!

Lissome: https://www.brilliantearth.com/Lissome-Diamond-Ring-White-Gold-BE1D616-3958023/

Twisted vine: https://www.brilliantearth.com/Petite-Twisted-Vine-Diamond-Ring-White-Gold-BE1D54-3821855/

I serious like every setting you picked however, the first 2 are very thin. Even the last at 1.7 (with pave) is rather thin. If I went with one of those it would probably be the 3rd or 4th setting. The 3rd is substantial and would hold up better IMO. The 4th has 6 prongs which is a plus.

Do you have pictures/link of the stone so we can see if its a well cut stone or not?

Thanks! The 4th (poppy) is also 1.7mm. I am worried that 6 prongs might look odd on an oval diamonds but wouldn't mind the extra security.

The 3rd seems very nice with the twisted vine, but I'm also worried that the small stones might easily get lost

I'm thinking of this stone right now:

My band is very thin, but in platinum it is very strong. I'd get the poppy in platinum, so pretty

I like the 6 prong Poppy.

I personally like #3. I am a big fan of simple solitaire Tiffany style settings in general. But for ovals and pears, I prefer something more twisty and elaborate. I also really like split shank for ovals. I think 2 diverging lines on each side (twisted or split shank) give more visual support to the elongated centre stone. It also looks classy and graceful.

Another vote for Poppy.
