Opinion on 1.85 CT, E VS1

Hi Guys,

New to the forums. What's everyone's opinion on this stone? Asking Price is $26,800. I've seen this stone in person out of 4 stones, I picked this one. Currently on hold. Feedback greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It's a really nice stone. REALLY nice.

Is there a cultural reason for such high color and clarity? I can't for the life of me imagine spending 27000 and NOT getting a full 2 carats.

Would you consider dropping down to a nice F VS2 and going up to 2 carats?

Although, I can't seem to find a nice F VS2, now that I'm looking.

It's a lovely stone. I just think that if you are going to spend that kind of money, you should go for a 2 carat stone. That said, if there are cultural reasons for such high color and clarity, ignore me.

Sorry. I Fat Fingered the asking price. Asking is $25,800 not $26,800. Couldn't edit the price on the original post. Is $25,800 a good value for this diamond?

I appreciate the opinions. It's really a personal preference even though I'm not the one wearing it. I'm more about the quality than size. I like to see the fire and sparkle coming out of a nice clean white diamond. I went out in search for VS1, F, or better stone with the perfect symmetry. Although a 2 carat would have been great, I think we pay a markup for breaking the 2 carat mark and decided to stay under it.

Your stone is stunning and beautiful. I would be thrilled to have an E MRB. VS1 is definitely a mind clean. I'm sure sh will love it. Congratulations to you both.
