I''ve been looking for round ideal cut over 1ct. I came across these two stones the other day and was wondering which is best. Both cost $6,000. Any help on if this is a good deal and which to pick would be greatly appreciated. Stone 1 ideal scope image is attached.

Stone 2:

I like stone #1 better. Stone #2 doesn't have an idealscope picture, but I'm sure whiteflash could get it for you. However, right now it's an unknown, and stone #1 has a great idealscope picture. Stone #1 also has the edge in color, as well as polish/symmetry. Stone #1 is EX/EX and #2 is VG/EX. A couple of other things that drop down #2 are the girdle and culet. Very thin to slightly thick is a pretty big range, and while the very thin part may be small and not a problem, it's still something to consider. And the culet of #2, at 2.4% seems a little larger than normal. So, while one reason I listed alone might not be enough to choose between the two, I think the combination of them is the reason why I'd pick #1. Stone #1 has a slight edge in color, polish, girdle, and culet, and a known great idealscope picture.

Aye, Ive been searching through hundreds of diamonds in the past month or so and I compleetly agree with Magnum here. The colourless upgrade from stone 1, the more sturdy girdle, and the almost nil culet are key. And on top is the verry nice idealscope.
best of luck

Thanks for the help! I was leaning towards #1 as well but I wanted some other opinions. Does the price look good? It seems pretty competitive with other comperable stones but most places don't show sarin/idealscope pictures on thier sites.
