Opinion needed on Tacori Prongs...

Tacori is likely getting my diamond today or tomorrow, and starting on my ring (Tacori 2578.) My dilemma is which prongs to go with!! I've attached 2 photo's on the 2578, and they seem to have different type prongs. The "arrow" style prongs in the top picture are the stock prongs. The bottom picture I just came across today on Tacori's facebook page. The prongs seem to have a "triangle" type shape.

When you are looking at the ring in person, it's probably the last thing a person notice's, but I'm just trying to get everything perfect!! Does anyone have an opinion as to which they like better?? THANKS EVERYONE! :D

I do think they are a bit bulky, I would pick the second version.

second option

I like the second as well! Only catch.....EXTRA $500 if I modify the prongs. (even if it's less metal, or less detail)

I'm not a fan of the first ring's prongs they are so boxy and large

Wow! That is a steep charge! So, if you want to go with option #2, it will cost you $500 more?

For that price, I might just consider a whole new ring altogether! Have you considered that?

I was thinking the same thing

I definitely want this ring (the 2578), but just wasn't fond of the arrow prongs. (And yes $500 for any time Tacori changes prong style....wierd!)

I've seen this ring in person, and anyone will barely even notices the prong. (even the jeweler had to double-take because he never knew)
So the prongs aren't a deal-breaker....but I'm just so picky about things.

(I know my soon-to-be-fiance' will care less lol)

I'd show them that 2nd picture and say you want them like that. I seriously doubt someone paid $500 extra for those prongs. That looks like a Tacori photo so I would think those prongs should be an option. You aren't trying to change them to something they haven't done before.

For $500, I'd ask for claw prongs. Both photos show rather bulky prongs. If you have to pay for a change, why not get something delicate but durable??

I second this thought. Delicate claw prongs would be amazing on that setting! $500 seems pricey for prongs - am I out of touch or is that normal?

agree, for that amount of money I would not want my diamond to be covered up with bulky prongs

I like the second prongs better but for that ridiculous price, I would ask for claw prongs, as the others have suggested.

It was a stock photo on Tacori's facebook page, but Tacori told my jeweler that was custom for someone. (and that any changes from original prongs are $500) The arrow prongs actually don't look bulky in person....but I do favor something different. What type of claw type prongs do you recommend? Any Pics??

I have this engagement ring and I have the first prongs. It does not look bulk in person, at all. The second prongs, actually look bulky...I have seen them in person as well. I can attach a picture of mine if you'd like. Also, I think it depends on carat size too. My center stone would look ridiculous in prongs other than what they are in now...

Hi Enerchi,
I personally prefer the arrow, or leaf-shapped prongs with this setting. If they are noticible, I think they match the delicate/vintage styling of the ring better. The triangle prongs may be better suited to match a more contemporary/simple setting. If they aren't noticible and cost significantly more, I would go with the standard ones. =)

I think the first prongs match the style of the ring better. Also, if you have seen it in person and you liked it...I see no reason to spend an extra $500.

Its definitely a gorgeous ring! I thought you were looking for alternatives, but if you love the current ones - PERFECT  !!

Very exciting - hope to see photos real soon - Good luck!

This is one of my favorite solitaire rings of all time. Regardless of which prong u choose, it will look amazing. Can't wait to see pics!
