Open Kate Spade Box, Hilarity Ensues

I hope this is in the right category . . .

I looked at this Kate Spade - Color Cafe - Brompton ring for a while. Thought it looked so fun and frivolous for a day when I felt playful or childish or what-have-you. Straight out of a childhood gumball machine. Well, Kate brought out some new combinations and it started to disappear, and there''s nothing like limited supply to make me frantic and feel a desperate need to possess something. SO, I snapped it up from Nordstrom and it''s just arrived.

Now, this is the ring pictured on both the Kate Spade and Nordstrom sites. I didn''t bother looking for or reading dimensions, I assumed it would be chunky and fun-oversized. Thinking 14mm chunky or something close to that . . .

. . . but instead, it''s quite a bit bigger!!!!!

Isn''t that hilarious?? I was working hard to get my fingers THAT close together!

It''s a shame . . . it had such cute potential, and I thought this little KS plaque inside was neat too. Oh well . . . just had to share my hilarity upon opening the box!

I KNOW! I mean, I think she has a sense of humor in her jewelry line -- the bright colors and owls and such -- so I thought the "fun" was merely the fact that this was going to be like a Chiclet. I had some interest in the new fall tortoise ring like this, too, but I''m glad I only bought this first!

See, I think you are thinking abut this the wrong way - you can do lots of finger exercises with this and then you can have slimmer fingers so that your other rings have better finger coverage.

Although I think when most people think about finger coverage, they weren''t envisioning a piece of plastic the size of your palm!
