Ok...so, someone brought up CAD's and to be sure to use a reputable jeweler. So, with that said, I am curious what jeweler would be the best for a custom designed engagement ring. (my design is not fancy at all) but I want a certain number of diamonds in it. It's basically a novo type side stones but a cathedral. Anyway, I have a feeling i know what most people will say but I thought I would ask. I may buy the diamond locally and use a local jeweler. Or, I might buy it from an online vendor and have them create the CAD's but how do I know I am getting good quality? Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

For CAD work my preferences are BGD and ERD. They have great benches and fabulous finish. Both are also great at sourcing stones.

I guess it doesn't have to be CAD work but I just want a reputable jeweler that I know I will be getting good quality. ERD is engagement rings direct, right?

Yes. Handforged is going to cost you more. But for those I would use Steven Kirsch or Leon Mege or ERD (they have a CAD bench and a handmade one).

I don't know as much as these ladies but I had great experiences dealing with Engagement Rings Direct, Eternity by Yoni, and Diamonds by Lauren. All three provide cast and hand forged as well.

Not an issue with a local jeweller if you've checked out their other work and are satisfied with what you see. For online, I've work with Whiteflash at least 3 times and each experience has been great.
