Once upon a time (July 2008) a girl fell in love with a stone.

Paging Love in Bloom!

Alas, it belonged to another. Luckily, the owner has great taste in VanCraeynest settings, so the girl was content with potentially seeing the beautiful stone put in a fabulous setting.

However, one fateful day (last week), the owner of the beautiful stone decided to give it up.

This is when *fate* intervened, and our "heroine" managed to hunt down the stone.

And then one fine day (today) the stone arrived at the doorstep of the girl who had fallen in love with it so long ago.

And they all lived happily ever after.

Tee hee hee. I''ll shut up with the spazzed out fairytale, and get to the (not so great because it''s night time) pictures.

(Btw, there is a hot little co-star that hadn''t been photographed yet, and it decided to play a little too.)

May I present to you, the 1.55ct supernova spinel cut by Barry Bridgestock, and previously owned by the fabulous Love In Bloom. (Her pictures are much better than mine are.)

Two guest stars--a light pink/lavenderish tiny spinel from Barry, and the 1.6ct gray spinel from Barry as well.

With it''s hot pink co-star, a spinel from John B. over at GemRite! (.81cts)

With a funky 1.3ish ct steely gray blue spinel that's somewhat windowed.

Last one for today. I need to get photos of it in the daylight!

Thanks akmiss! LIB has great taste huh? I love her Grape Jelly ring. ...sigh...

I have no idea how I''ll set this, but it needs to go in a fantastic setting!! Suggestions are VERY welcome!

i saw that stone for sale and i was thinking about it- but i''m so glad you were able to get a stone that you fell in love with. Fate does have it''s ways.

Congrats! How are you going to set it?

Very nice stone Freke, but honestly...that pink spinel is just amazing!!!

I was thinking the same thing. I am loving that HOT, HOT pink

How sweet you finally got the stone you wanted. It must''ve been fate.

I''m so glad you were able to get it Liz!! I love all the stones.

I LOVE that stone!!! The cut, the color, the personality....... all are gorgeous!! Congrats on adopting it. Now, what kind of mounting are you interested in? I''m home with a sick boy all day, and I''d love to surf for ideas!

It''s beautiful-so glad you were able to get it!

It''s lovely, and I''m so glad you got your hands on it!

Thanks guys!

Yeah that hot pink---YOWZA! It''s kind of one of the stones on my "list"--a 3ct hot pink cushion for a pendant is, which isn''t going to happen for a long while...hahahaha--so I figured I''d get this little guy for a ring.

And setting ideas--something super spiffy. White metal, no bezels...BEG had suggested something like musey''s ering setting? No halos. Something pretty dainty--this stone is 5.8x 7.6

I was going to see if I could get up today and take pictures of it in the sun, but it''s raining, so that''s not going to be possible.

Beautiful! Does it have a color shift? It seems to be more of a grayish-purple in your pics but more bluish in hers.

I wish I could find out, but it''s so cloudy I don''t think I''ll be able to tell. It looks like a lavender in most lights. I think that most of her pics had natural lighting, so I''m guessing that probably explains it.

I''m starting to feel like my camera is inadequate...

Join the club! I may ask Santa for a new camera this year.

Those are really pretty Uppy, but I''m thinking the budget for this is between $1,000 to $1,500. So feel free to expand the search!

If that''s the case, then I highly endorse James Meyer!!!!

Suggestions from Mr. Meyer? I''ve never really looked before...

Gorgeous!! I saw that stone too.. but didn''t know about how you loved it soo much! I''m sooo glad it found it way to you!

Here are some selections that could work. Remember, his work is incredibly delicate in person!! What looks bulky on the screen is so thin and streamlined on the hand. And he is the nicest, easiest to work with.

It''s a beautiful stone, Freke! It was meant to be for you

Now you will have the fun of finding the perfect setting for that blue sparkly!!
