I forgot to mention that after my stone ran through a machine (maybe sarin?) it came back with slightly different proportions than the GIA had listed.

Sarin:

Depth: 60.8
Table: 58
Crown: 34
Pavillion: 40.6
HCA = .8 (but now just outside AGS ideal)

GIA: 60.9, 57, 34.5, 40.6 (same HCA, within AGS0)

Is this stone too shallow? Any cause for concern? I didn''t check an idealscope image of the stone, but I meant to.

No, and no. Slight variances are normal from one machine to the next.

Thanks so much -- panic is setting in as I''m about to send it off to be set (and go outside the return period).

You're welcome! And don't panic, it will be fine!

(although, you could have it independantly appraised if it will make you feel better)

L and E: Thanks so much. It''s so stressful. It isn''t the money even. I just want things to be as solid as they can be. I''m going to take it back to Dave A when the ring is completed.

Exactly - he would indeed! I know this can be stressful and nerve wracking but you have done everything in the right way and now you have done all you can - I think soon you will hit the next stage which is excitement and joy with your lovely new diamond!
