I just bought a pink tourmaline and have found a LOGR setting I really like. Now the question is what color gold. I am leaning away from white b/c I have so much of it....I leaning towards rose b/c my skin tone is olive ( a kind way to say green!!!). Would it be too warm with rose. I will try to show pictures. My right click is giving me trouble!!

Bookworm,
How accurate is the picture of the stone? It doesn't look pink at all to me. The nuances of pink determines if it is suited for white, rose or yellow gold. A vivid pastel pink should be in a white metal, a purplish pink would look pretty in yellow, and pretty much any pink colour should look great in rose gold. In this case, I would recommend a pink metal to try to bring out as much pink in the tourmaline as possible.

In some light is looks almost like an ice pink. IN other light it looks peachy. Thanks for the advice so far!!

I love the last setting you posted. Very pretty. Do you have the actual stone? Maybe you can post some pictures?

I agree, the last setting is lovely and my favorite. If the picture of the stone is airly accurate, then the pink gold will make the pink in the stone more obvious.

I like the last setting from Yigal best as well. The thing with that stone is the sparkle factor since it''s more precision cut. It''s a soft light pink, so a rose gold metal would help the color.

Can you show us up close pics of the stone?

I''d choose the one without the halo, cause it''s not exactly a tiny stone. In terms of metal color, I don''t really know what to suggest as I suspect no metal will make that stone noticably pink - unless maybe a rose gold bezel. Such a sparkly stone will have a very good light return, which further lightens the color. So if you leave it in just prongs, metal color is of little importance. Yellow gold would probably make any hint of pink virtually disappear.

I''m curious to see the stone when you get it. I really like the first setting a lot.

As soon as my hubby gets home, I will ask him to post pictures. I will put the stone up against some different metals. Thanks so much for the in put. I met and married my husband in 10 months....it may take me longer to buy a ring!!!!!! (Well, we are talking about a ring...I mean that is REALLY important!!)

This is a LOGR ring I am also considering. Could I wear this with a wedding band or do you think it is a stand-alone piece. :)

One more link....I found this ring the pricescoper Anita has....

another shot! Okay, ready for opinions!!

The last shot looks very light in color...hmmmm...I''d go with rose gold.

I see some peach in the 2 earlier pictures but the 3rd (last one) looks almost colourless. I think a bezeled rose gold setting is needed to deepen the colour.
