I would really appreciate the help in my search form you all :) I've been eyeing tourmalines but they seem to be mostly out of budget. This is for a necklace so I would like the stone to be somewhat substantial (perhaps 10mm by 5mm, there about) and an emerald style cut. Durability shouldn't be too big of a deal considering it's a necklace too. It will be bezel set so that may help it out in the size department. I am open to blue-green colors down through yellow colors. I have been scouting the recommended vendor list, but I have yet to really hit on anything. If anyone has anything in mind, please share! :) I am sure there are plenty of reputable ebay vendors that I just don't know about.

Thank you!

Have you looked at litnon yet? They had a number of reasonably priced tourmaline in the past

I hadn't seen them yet, thanks! This stone seems like a contender, the color isn't quite what I was thinking but I like it. I wonder about that window there in a middle and whether the stone will be too dark in a bezel:

Found this, and I think the color would hold up well in a bezel:

I know the shape is a little different, but I think it'd look really nice in a bezel.

This one is smaller than you're wanting, and it's not an emerald cut, but the color struck me and it's within budget.

8.06x5.90, 1.64ct concave periodot, on the "Kosnar Gem Auctions" facebook group (which you'd have to join, thought.. Thats easy!). Totally in your budget (do we have a policy on posting current auction prices?)

Or, if this sort of color appeals, heres a couple other peridotz that would make substantial pendents:

12.7x10, 5.84 ct rectangular cushion, $146

10.3x8.4, 4.3 ct rectangular cushion, $107

I have been admiring these stones that seem to fit your description

Here is a 9x4 yellow green sphene on sale for $95.20 at Cecile Raley Designs on Etsy
But it could not be bezeled. It is a perfect pendant stone with lot of light

Here is an 8x5 radiant cut Arizona Peridot from Kosnar Gems on Etsy for $139

Also I see on Prima Gems ebay store has a 12x5 blue greet tourmaline for $130 the inclusions should be ok in a pendant

Enjoy your search!

Thank you so much everyone for all of the suggestions!! I really appreciate it.

qubitasaurus, I really like that 3.71 ct Apatite! The colors and shape are just what I had in mind and it has a neutrality to it, thank you! I think this might be the one :)

Wow that is great :) . But do check with your jewler about setting before pulling the trigger on something like apatite or sphene.

Go for an Apatite.
Top gem grade can be really bright and almost rival Paraiba for colour (not glow though).
As long as you have a good jeweller who treats it like an Opal or a Cameo (its about the same hardness) you should have no problems.
AJS gems have lots of nice ones across all budgets, thought this one was a good size for you.

Attached is a pic of some of the ones I've collected to show you colour range. Taken under flouro light, and then shadowed light to show how it darkens up.
Keep in mind that a lot of Apatite carries inclusions, so clean bright material in larger sizes starts to get pricy.

Yup already checked! He is comfortable - I have an email into TGT to make sure it's still available and to see if perhaps I can get a video too. Thanks again!
