OK---nothing to report per se---just that I am on waiting with my heart in my mouth because Adam at OWD is sending me a 4.49 antique cushion to arrive tomorrow!!! Estimated specs:

Carats: 4.49
Clarity: SI1
Color: O/P

He said the cut is excellent It was originally 4.92 carats and it has gone through a recut to smooth out the edges and make it's nice shape nicer. He was surprised at how much weight it lost. I'm curious too. It used to measure: 10.30 x 10.04 x 6.90

Prior to the recut the table was 47.6% and depth: 68.7%. He said it reminded him of JustGinger's Poppy---which to me is a huge compliment. I will have my jaw on the ground if it comes close to that beauty!

In any case, I'll be taking it to Neil for appraisal on Friday---before I get attached to it. I'm trying to be objective because I'm not sure the color will work out but I tend to like K, L, and Ms so maybe . . .

No pics yet: will try and take some when I get it and combine that with Neil's appraisals to then get your thoughts. Just in case: here's the link to the YouTube video he sent prior to the recut.

Fingers crossed!!!

Pick my jaw off the floor ..Even before the recut it is spectacular. MNOPQRS rrististable......

Wow! I hope you love it in person!

Puuuuuuuuuuuuuuurty ....

I'm not sure if you are looking for opinions here but I would be curious to see more pictures of it head on. To me the diamond doesn't have a very crisp facet pattern based off the youtube video which is a pretty big deal breaker for me. However, when it comes to antique cuts everyone looks for different things. Plus some just don't take good photos (I know my antique cushion doesn't). I do like the overall outline. Adam tends to pick pillowy shapes cushions often. I think he has said in the past they appeal more to him so he looks for them. Besides JustGinger, Meg_ also has a very similar one as well as my AC follows the same form. I also really like the tiny crown. 49% or close?

Regardless the pattern would make me hesitate.

EDIT::: Sorry didn't read that the video was BEFORE the recut!!! minor details right ;))

Thanks Maisie, Heididl, and Circe: I'm hoping it truly is beautiful in person.

SB: very much value your opinion and thank you for sharing. I'm not convinced yet that it's my HG of stones. Oy, as I was typing, saw your edit  Once I get it my hot little hands, I will take numerous pics and post them along with Neil's comments. And, I just looked at your ring again: wowzer!!! It is AMAZING; maybe lightning will strike again?

I've got my list of questions for him based on all the superb input on the forum. My goal: balance rational decision-making with what my greedy, sparkle-ho heart says. Wish me luck
