On color alone - which of these two stones would you pick?

I'm sorry. I'm the most neurotic person on the planet. Pretend you're just picking on color and nothing else. Which of these two stones would you pick? (Hey! Yay me! My first poll!)

I would pick the teal, to me it's a more pleasing color. I am just not a dark blue kind of person.

The teal, because the dark blue is slightly on the darker side than I would want in a sapphire. I did however fall in love with a dark blue spinel, but its pretty darn sparkly even in low light, so go figure

I like lighter tones in gems, generally, so I picked teal. If I ever get a sapphire I will be going for a much lighter color than is typically desired I think.

Right now the votes are even

Dare I say I picked ..... teal ?
I think it's because I personally trend toward the lighter shades in general,
and am not the biggest fan of darkly saturated blues,
although one of my dream stones is going to be a nice blue sapphire...
(some day. along with a nice ruby.....sigh........ )

I TRULY see the appeal.... the richness... the blue flashes.... imagine the
gorgeousness with diamonds.... ahhh........

Anyway, it's going to be a tough choice.... wish you could just hold on to it for awhile
and take longer to decide.....
(actually, it reminds me of Steve's Sapphire.)

I chose teal too, not b/c the blue isn't beautiful, but b/c as I've been collecting, I notice I'm drawn more towards the lighter/medium colors now.

I voted teal too... I like teal's calming effect. And it will reflect more light than the dark blue one.

I second this. I'd worry that the darker blue, though it is absolutely gorgeous, would look flat (?) in indoor lighting. My dream sapphire, which I *will* get someday, will be a deep sky blue (the sky at 10,000 feet color). Also, you don't see stones the color of that teal very often, so the uniqueness appeals to me.

Always teal for me. And pooooooooooosssibly that blue could be on the dark side (prolly not with the right careful setting). Both GORGEOUS though! Nice problem to have ;P

Out of these two particular stones I've voted teal.

However, I would have gone for the blue if it was a touch lighter.

I voted teal. Very pretty Blue but too dark for me. I would have fell in love with the blue if it were more a medium and not medium/dark.

Athena, you are not neurotic. You look for great tone, saturation, dispersion, price per carat, and exceptional color in a CS. Who doesn't? I personally find it both nerve wrecking and enjoyable to find the gems that are Just Right. Im an obsessive/compulsive

although dark overall, it's very hard to beat,
I am sure, the flashes of blue when the dark
one decides it's time to sparkle

Blue, but only because I am partial to blues. It seems dark in the top picture but shows a brighter blue in the lower pictures.
