DeeJay, I can''t wait to see the Kelege!!

Your posts have me cracking up ladies...I can totally relate. DH has about 7 gifts under the tree from me and the only present for me under the tree....is TO me FROM me.
20.gif
I keep saying ''Christmas is only X days away...'' and I know he hasn''t gotten anything.

The one thing about getting shopping done early is....I still want to walk around the shops and I end up wanting to buy stuff for ME!!
4.gif
lol Do you always buy, AND wrap yourself presents?
9.gif

i can totally relate to all of your vents! christmas is only what? 4 days away? i don''t think sam got me anything at all. a few weeks ago, i asked him if he wanted to know my wish list and he said no because he wants to put thought into his gifts for me like he used to when we first started dating. he thought me telling him what to buy for me is not romantic. so i thought, ok, i''ll go with it.

well, there''s only a few days left and there is no sign of any gifts for me.
39.gif
unless he''s hiding them, he did that before...

and here i am at work thinking i still have to run to target and get him his PSP that he wants. what is wrong with this picture?? men, sheesh!

and to top it off, we, no actually ''I'' did the xmas cards three days ago and it was very late when i finished, like 2 am or something so i asked him to put stamps on the cards, so he did. when he finished, i took a peek at the envelopes, he put the stamps on the bottom left corner instead of the top right corner on some of them!
38.gif

so i asked him, "how can you mess up putting stamps on cards?!" well, he got a little ticked and asked, "what''s with the attitude?" well that''s when i TOLD him i was sick of being taken for granted during the holidays. without me, there would be no thanksgiving, no xmas, no decorations, no presents, no cards, no holidays at all! i think he felt really bad after that cuz he apologized and we were okay afterwards. it felt so much better to let him know. heehee
9.gif

oh, i forgot to mention that he's not getting me anything for xmas because he figures the eternity ring i am having made counts as my gift. we traded in some of our wedding gold to get the ring made since we have so much 24K gold just sitting around the safety deposit box doing nothing, so we decided to trade a few pieces in to our jeweler for a 2.6ctw eternity ring.

that was so NOT the agreement, since most of the gold traded was my gold jewelry!

i guess i'm just upset because this is our FIRST xmas together as husband and wife and there might not be anything for me...

RE: venting about our husbands lack of shopping.

DH just got back from Vegas and was very, very lucky this time. When I got home I made a joke about him buying me something (even he never buys me "just because" gifts, he doesn''t even get my x-mas gifts himself
20.gif
) He said he did! Shocked he made a big deal about having me put out my hand and close my eyes. He gave me a $100 bill. Not that I am not grateful but how unromantic!!!

I got DH the same slippers I got myself...and if I wear mine, he'll get suspicious. So I had to wrap both. heehee

The jeweler just called me and I''m going there first thing in the morning. (Please god, let me not hate it...)

The shoes don''t matter any more, LOL.

pictures, pictures!!
I looked at Kelege settings a few weeks ago and they were gorgeous.

I have to take back all the crummy nasty thoughts I had against DH

He started panicing 3 days ago, realizing he had me nothing (other than a few gifts I bought for myself for him to give me)
He realizes how much I do around the holidays, if it wasn''t for me, there would be no Christmas for anyone around here!

So he threw the diamond pendant idea out and I said ok
2.gif

He did it all by himself at Whiteflash. I can''t see it til Christmas!

lol Ann!!

tonite we sat on the couch, ate some ice cream and watched Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and finished up the Xmas cards.

the funny thing is that i told greg, okay well you go get more xmas cards because we ran out of the first batch. so he said he got some 'cute santa ones'. they are cute, but man they are pretty darn cheap feeling. the envelope is practically see through paper....but i have to give him credit for a really great try. and they are cute. i was at longs earlier and thought i should get another pack 'just in case' his were unuseable then i figured, well i tasked him so i have to trust him. i had to giggle a little each time i addressed the super rough thin envelope and wrote out one of those cards but hey WE ARE DONE. just gotta drop them at the PO tomorrow. woop woop.

and then he had the christmas bug so he went upstairs and wrapped all my gifts!! and said 'don't complain you didn't get anything this year' when he brought down like 9 packages (1 big one containing what i can only imagine is my beloved BI day) and put them under the tree. i accidentally left the 'portia tree blocking gate' at work today so we put up a bunch of the amazon boxes (still containing gifts i havent wrapped) around the tree so that she can hopefully NOT get to the presents under the tree. every time she goes near it we tell her no. haha. i might take the box that has my beloved darling bag in it, and put it in the dining room since i think i'd have a heart attack if i came home and found that one 'opened' by miss rat child.
40.gif

greg was like 'oh she'll leave the gifts alone won't she?'...i was thinking 'oh how quickly they forget'. hehee.

glad to hear everyone is 99% done or more. tomorrow i am going to best buy to pick up an ipod for my sister, and then go swing by and pick up a wine fridge for my dad. then i just have one more gift for my cousin left (gift exchange) and he said he wanted a target gift card so that's what he's getting. then i'll just have to do a wrapping day on saturday and that's that!!

just a few more days!! hope all are doing well.

Well ladies, maybe this will makes some of you feel better.

First, I told hubby I didn''t want anything for xmas, since I got my upgrade and studs this year, that was certainly enough spent on me.

I also told him, when he asked what I wanted for my birthday, which was yesterday, that I wanted a right hand ring, so that could be my present, and I''d pick it out. No problem.

However, I didn''t get a card, or cake, or, anything. Now, I''m really not one that demands a fuss (prolly why I''m typing this tale, lol), but I thought some gesture might be made.

I jokingly said something late last night about not even getting a card. He says, that''s why I called from work wanting to talk to (our youngest), I was going to tell him and (my middle one) to get a card for you. They were gone though. I just looked at him and said, you''ve had 364 days to pick out a card, and started laughing. He looked rather sheepish.
9.gif
And agreed.

To be fair, he HAD asked if I wanted a cake. Being so close to xmas, we always have so many sweets, it''s not like I''m ever craving one, plus, when you ask.... He could have bought a cupcake and put a candle in it though.

Yeah right.

YAHOO- I''M done! And now it''s time to relax. My Holiday time off has officially begun. I don''t go back to work until 1/2/07!

We got our cards out earlier this week. We were just waiting for wedding prints from our photog to arrive so we could assemble our cards. It was probably tacky, but I used clear labels for the addresses- oh well!

Finished wrapping presents on Tuesday (my home telecommuting day). DH was SO surprised when he came home that day to find a ton of presents for him under the tree. He happened to come home with the "christmas box" that MIL sent from PA. So, even more gifts were put under the tree that day! I think seeing all those gifts got him going, and he came home last night with what I think was my Christmas present. He wrapped it up, and then we spent the rest of the evening watching one of my favorite Holiday moves- LOVE ACTUALLY

OK, I''m technically not quite done as mom''s bday is the day after XMas and I have yet to buy her something. I''m hitting the mall this morning.

Two days and counting until XMas!

I''m relieved to say that Christmas is pretty much over in our house! In a fun way.

We are leaving tomorrow to drive 8 hours south for Christmas with my husband''s relatives, so we opened all of our presents early. The kids (who just had the Santa "a ha" moment this year) opened theirs, and we did too. So everything has been wrapped, unwrapped, and recyled!
36.gif

My sweet husband surprised me. We had done the lame thing this year and picked out our own presents. But that sneak surprised me with a necklace from my favorite jewelry designer! It was so sweet.

So a few presents are left to take down south, but I am feeling fabulously relieved that "our" christmas presents are done!

Oh boy, I can relate! Just read my responses in this thread. The same thing happened when he proposed. Since my B-day was less than a month away I said he didn''t have to get me anything. Well I thought he would at LEAST get me a card (or draw me one) or flowers. Nothing. He got some slack for it though.
20.gif

i just finished all my xmas shopping. finally got sam his psp, along with a game, and a protective clear case. also picked him up a sweater too. went to petsmart and got muffin a big box of greenies. she loves those!

i even finished wrapping them at work since one of my coworkers brought in some wrapping paper. hee. i just have to wrap his sweater when i get home tonight and then i'm done! yay!!!
36.gif

i'm so glad to hear everyone's holiday is coming together.

I know, there's a lot of us. Too many.
38.gif

Men.

Hubby did call me from work yesterday and apologized. Said he didn't know what he was thinking. I told him he wasn't.
9.gif
He agreed, again.

And, the best part is, I came home from running errands yesterday, and my sweet 16 year old had made me a card. It said how much he appreciated everything I did, that he was sorry I hadn't even gotten a card, so he made me this one. It was also good for anything I wanted him to do (chore).
5.gif
Bless his heart. I did this---->
39.gif

Then I had him clean the breezeway.

Well, everything is wrapped...I sent FI out to the food store (mwahhhhhhhhh.......
11.gif
) to pick up all the things we need for dinner tonight- having some friends and family over, and since I am cooking.....he has to do the real dirty work- dealing with the supermarket on the Sat before the holiday!! He just called me and was like, "OMG- the store is PACKED, I can't even find a parking spot- I can't believe this!!!" Men: they really just have no idea, do they?????
3.gif

ellen, that''s so sweet of your son!
5.gif
i love what he did for you, the card and the chore gift. so sweet!

dani, i was LOL about your hubby complaining about how packed the market is. hehe. glad to hear he''s getting a small glimpse of what we go through every holiday.
2.gif

i stayed up till 3 am last night finishing all the xmas wrapping and stuff. by the time i slipped into bed, sam woke up and looked at the clock and was shocked at the time. he asked what i was doing the whole time and i said, ''wrapping gifts and finishing up the xmas stuff.'' he then cuddled me tight and told me he loved me. awwww.
5.gif
made me so happy...hee

LOL, Milly, sometimes I feel like FI really has no clue about how much time and effort it takes to keep food in the house, keeping our place clean, laundry done, etc- I do everything!!!! He does offer to help- but I feel like I am just entirely too anal to let him do anything- I always have to redo it anyway, so why bother?? I know, that is my issue, he really is a good guy.

But seriously, going to the market was the LEAST he could do for me!!!! Let him deal with that madness!!!! I was stupid enough to go 2 days before Thanksgiving, and it was like a madhouse!!! Never again, if I can help it!!!!
2.gif

aww milly that's cute.
5.gif

so all my stuff is basically done.
36.gif
i just have to wrap 2 more gifts...one for greg and one for my mom. but everything else is wrapped and under the tree and greg's stocking is all filled. i sent greg to get the banana cream pie today which he was happy to do, so that was nice to offload that one thing. the store wasn't even crazy when i went this afternoon to get a few things. and i even managed to get our xmas cards for next year at 1/2 price today as well! hehee.

the potatoes are boiling for my mashed potatoes and then i have a carrot dish to make but its super easy. then just gotta get ready and head over to my parents for xmas eve celebration of extended side of my mother's family (cousins etc). tomorrow morning we celebrate ourselves at our place, then we go to my parents in the afternoon for just the immediate family celebration and lunch.

anyhow, hope everyone has a wonderful and STRESS FREE holiday...drink up the egg nog and relax...!! we multi-tasking present-buying-wrapping-food-making holiday ladies all really deserve it!
1.gif

milly, thanks. He is my ray of sunshine, truly. I told my best friend what he did and she said, How old is he again? I told her and she said, And he isn''t ruined yet? LOL
9.gif

dani, I was laughing SO hard at you sending hubby to the store. Good one.
9.gif
11.gif

Mara, you''re right, we ALL deserve some eggnog and rest!

Happy Xmas Eve!
