There''s a pretty ring with an OMC. I''ve been looking at it for quite a few days and wasn''t sure how big of a deal the little feathers are, from a clarity grade POV.
Take a look please. It looks eyeclean to me. I''d appreciate your thoughts. Thank you.
Hey Lorelei (btw, I love your screenname/real name(?))! Thanks for always taking the time to check my postings.Date: 4/25/2010 10:09:08 AM

Judes, sorry but there is no way to tell from a photo or even the report ( if the stone has one) whether the diamond is eyeclean or if the feathers are a potential issue, what does the vendor say about it, do they have the stone in house?

The vendor is a reputable dealer and states the the stone has great “fire” and “sparkles” and the diamond is in ''excellent estate condition with no nicks, chips or abrasions''. There is a 7 day return period so that is good. It''s set as a solitaire and is perfect EXCEPT it is set in yellow gold.![]()
I love that name from both that movie and from Gilmore Girls - so very unique!!Date: 4/25/2010 2:32:05 PM

Hi Judes!
Lorelei isn''t my real name, I took it from Marilyn Monroe''s character from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes when I registered here years ago. In the movie Lorelei loved diamonds so it seemed fitting!![]()
If the vendor is known to you and you trust their opinion thats great, make absolutely sure you let them know your expectations concerning the '' eyecleanliness'' of this diamond. For example, if you don''t want to see any visible inclusions from any angle or distance, make sure you let them know that so you are both on the same page. So you would need to get the stone reset.....Will the vendor be able to do that for you or will you have to find someone else?
Thanks! Thats right, there is a Lorelei from the GG!Date: 4/25/2010 3:07:58 PM

The vendor has a 100% satisfaction 7-day return policy assuming the item hasn''t been altered in any way. The setting is perfect except that it is yellow gold. If it were just white gold or platinum I wouldn''t even need to get it reset. If I get it, I would take the item to be separately appraised by someone like David Atlas who is about an hour''s drive from me and if it met his standards I would try to find someone either recreate the original setting in white gold or platinum, provided the original setting looked good on my somewhat short, stubby fingers or pick out another setting that would be classic and true to the cut.
