Hi all,
My parents gave me this antique ring many moons ago. I do not wear it because I’m not a blue topaz person, but the ring fits perfectly and is so comfortable. I would like to swap the stone for a lab diamond.

Could any of the experts help me find a very sparkly stone? I took this to a local jeweler today and they said the stone would be 1.25 ctw or 7mm.

Any thoughts? Thank you! IMG_9639.jpeg

That setting is sooo pretty. Are you looking for a blue LGD? And what shape?

lucythedog, I've found a stone for you. Are you online?

have you thought about an old cut? When cut well, they sparkle a lot just like modern round brilliants. And it would fit the style of the setting.

Thank you! It honestly hadn’t crossed my mind, but I can definitely see how it would match the style of the setting!

lucythedog, thank you for interrupting the cluster-coitus thread of "dealers trashing lab grown diamonds." Your ring is beautiful and you have two dead-eyes on your behalf already. Can't wait to see what develops.

I took it as a sign that Kim & Deja both posted the same one and grabbed it. So excited!!

4151 should be quite a firecracker with its 40.8/35/56 combo and 15.5% crown height!

My diamond arrived today and WOW - total STUNNER!

The long version - about 12 hours after I placed my order, I received an email that the diamond was not available.
LGD offered me a different diamond at the same price. I was pleasantly surprised to see the replacement offered was the second suggestion from Kim N and they price matched to the first stone (about $50 difference).

I didn’t want to post until I received it because MY GOSH those lurkers really do snipe fast.

Thanks so much to DW and Kim N!!!!!IMG_9879.jpeg
Dropping this off to the jeweler tomorrow and will post finished pics!

Love it and that setting is gorgeous! What was the price by the way the links didn’t work for me. I’m interested in seeing how prices are trending.

i cant wait to see it

This is so exciting!!! Your setting is amazing and this diamond will be mesmerizing! Can't wait to see photos of the finished ring!
On another note, even though you said you are not a blue topaz person, maybe you should use the original blue topaz stone of your ring, which comes with so much sentiment, in order to make a pendant that you can weat with your light blue shirts, blouses, etc. That would be lovely!

Yes! Great idea. My parents gave me this ring as a college graduation gift!
