old opal, new to me

I inherited this ring last year and finally got around to having it resized. I picked it up today!!!
I think it is a fiery opal and has approximately 1 carat total diamond weight. The setting is white gold. It was purchased in the early 1970''s.

Nice looking crystal or semi-crystal opal, most probably from the Coober Pedy Mine judging by the appearance.

The name means "White Man in a Hole" in the local Aboriginal language,
