Now that you’ve seen the pics, here is the story, lol

Walked into one of my favorite pawn shops after they texted me that they were having a 65 percent off sale! Spotted this ring in one of the bigger cases and from afar. I was drawn to the setting bc I love love halos and split shanks. Thought to myself, cute but prob way expensive. I couldn’t tell much about the center stone so I passed it up and didn’t even request to see it up close.
I spent a good half hour finding a gift from DD to her boyfriend and while I was waiting for her texts, I got so bored that I did another loop and finally asked to see this guy. Something about the stone’s facets caught my eye. I asked to see it up close and was wowed. An old cut! Still can’t tell if it’s old mine or old euro? It’s wonky. Maybe was recut at some point bc of a chip? And then I look at the side stones and yup, old cuts. At this point, I was still thinking it would be more than I cared to spend bc surely, it’s a gimmick—65 percent off.
Turns out it was a smoking deal! Keep in mind that I’m terrible with sizes and had no clue what the center stone was. the receipt indicated .40 tcw. Which for the price, was still a decent deal.
Calipered it at home. Measures 6.1 mm. Sides are prob .10 to .15 each —didn’t caliper those, lol.
I feel like I’ve been transported to the old days when I was able to find a ring like this at a price like I paid. I love it! Will keep it in this setting bc why not???

Ok. Not gonna lie. My wheels are spinning. I’m thinking of taking the stone and setting it in my bezel pendant bc I removed my oec from it a put it in my dream deco setting. Then. I could put either my blue sapphire or tsavorite in this setting!

A color stone would be beautiful in that setting! Congrats on such a great find. I love "wonky" cuts.

I welcome your thoughts on this pendant! Appreciate your honesty. Fell in love with the shape and setting. Realize now that the trillion is not as well cut? But I find it charming. Kind of would wish it was upside down—but not gonna tweak it until I’m sure it’s a keeper.

I like the trillion if you plan to use as a charm in a bolt ring. Not sure about the trillion as a lone pendant...

He’s fast, but not precise, lol…hence why the round bezel is not perfect.
