That looks like my pancreas that was taken out.

Did you really have your panky taken out? I always wondered if that was possible because mine gives me hell. Docs always avoid the question when I ask and make it sound like a crazy idea.

That’s disgusting but a predictable result. I can’t believe he put that rotten meat on his cutting board.

But I love my sous vide!

I suspect the fat had turned rancid for being cooked for so long.

What a waste of a nice piece of meat!

DK

I had early pancreatic cancer and it was resectioned and a nice chunk taken out. I don’t know if you can live without any pancreas at all? It changed my blood glucose level and made it much lower.

Thank you.
I have had more frequent mild pancreatitis attacks and they are getting worse and I am afraid of ending up in the hospital or having a Whipple. I already had one big surgery and don't think I can keep doing these and just want the sucker gone.

I a so sorry about your cancer but glad you survived. It's a tough one to survive.

You can have your entire pancreas taken out. It is called a TPAIT. They remove several organs in the process to save your islet cells. Those are transplanted into your liver in hopes of creating insulin vs becoming diabetic. My daughter had it done 5 years ago. Very invasive and she had to meet several criteria (she was 15). Took a couple of years to heal but all the pancreatitis and pain are gone.

I didn’t have Whipple but it was a big operation. I had to lose my spleen in the operation. I spent 8 miserable days in the hospital. hopefully never again. It’s been 4 years.

That’s right! I forgot about that surgery when I found it online and started asking docs about it but it was still BRAND new and docs didn’t even want to discuss it with me. That is amazing she did well. I really hope I don’t need to go that route but it hurts!
Thank you for reminding me about that.
