Dear God, woman, that is a LOT of shoes! I''m impressed!

Kris and I went out on Thursday evening and I got to wear my favorite heels--fun! What kind of a setting are you thinking for your ring (aside from platinum)? Have you gone and tried on any to see what they look like on?

Is it reason to be impressed, or should I be depressed? That''s so many shoes! It''s crazy! And D wants to buy me another pair or two! Ack! (BTW, the boxes only started accumulating in February. 24 pairs in 6 months. AAHHH!!!)

As for settings...I have come up with words, but no specific settings. I decided I don''t care. I just want a solitaire (minimalist at heart and I''m just not big on lots of bling--I prefer metal) that is: curvy, flowy, organic, swoopy, fluid. Like MWM, not like Varna. Maybe like Vatche? And if there are any accent stones, I want sapphires. And Vatche breaks the bank really...I don''t like the x prongs. I don''t know!!!!

Gosh, thinking about all of this almost tempted me to go look at the stone. ACK!!!

So I''m trying to decide between two pairs of shoes. Tell me which ones you prefer: GUESS Devine (slingbacks) or GUESS Drifter (pumps)

Wholey Smokes you have a lot of shoes. HA!!!OK, Freke, I will wait patiently for MY Cinnabon Cupcake Clones!!!!

I think I like the slingbacks a bit better although they''re both gorgeous shoes! The slingbacks just seem to have a bit more "Wow!" factor if that makes sense.

I love MWM. So awesome. Unfortunately, also so expensive! Any ideas on what your timeline looks like? I think ours is still sitting around next summer, although if we decide to get married in Spring of 2010 rather than summer, it might be pushed forward a bit. I think we''re getting the stone at Christmas from Kris'' grandmother, though. So exciting!

Did we discuss this last night? After all the silliness, I can''t remember!!

Anyhoo, I prefer Drifter.

And A hasn''t read my message yet.

6. Last but not least, you and your FF are soo cute!! AND congrats on him having the stone for your e-ring!! We cant wait for ours together.... naughty boys wanting to "wait" for their plans they have....grrrrr
:-)

Hi Freke!!!

I should totally have been in bed hours ago, but I caught your reply on my email and became entranced with your thread!

You are so much fun, and your eyes are gorgeous! I am jealous that you have a FF that actually BUYS you hot shoes instead of one who complains about how much room ANY shoes take up! Arghh!

You are just a doll, Freke, which I already thought before, but now I know!

I''m so sorry about little Genghis...those little guys are just precious! I also loved seeing the pic of Judge...my MIL and her twin sister both have the same breed...MIL is actually on her second one, and since I''ve never had a dog, I just adore her! The turtles wers so cute as babies...do they always "sun" on top of each other???

Thanks so much for sharing with us...I agree with Gwendolyn...you should totally write your own cookbook...we would all buy it because we love hearing what you have to say!

Hope you have a great night!!!

Nice to see I have something else in common with someone on here as well. I had my breast reduction a little over a month ago. Although I''m still a LIW, I''m looking forward to fitting into a better selection wedding dresses when the time comes.

So I just found out my mom went into the hospital again today, and so I''m trying to keep myself distracted and not thinking about it until I can go pick up D and head over there.

Linda- I think I''m going to have to go buy a bunch of cinnamon rolls so I can compare them when I start baking...

LP-I went for the Drifter (the non slingback). I think it''s because I have issues with slingbacks that don''t have open toes--like if any dirt gets in there, it''s not coming back out or something. I''m weird. However, they will be arriving probably within an hour, so I''ll post pics as soon as I can.

Timelines...Um. I''m thinking he''ll propose sometime next spring. He wants to finish Comps first, and those will probably happen in March or April. I want to get married in October (maybe March/April) because the weather in Vegas is nice then. So unless he pulls a ring out between now and March it''s looking like October 2010 for us. If my mom''s health goes south, it may get pushed up a bit.

I do love me some MWM. I''m not even sure of his prices, and I don''t know if I even want to know! But I''m betting they are too pricey for us.

Star- Drifter, and yay you heard from A! Finally!

Blondebunny- Hey there! Thanks for the compliments on the rockin'' purple shoes--they are pretty amazing, if I say so myself!

My love for baking....When I first went to C school, I wanted to be a chef. No pastry for me. So I decided to get the baking part of the curriculum out of the way before I took the classes that were realy what I really wanted to do. Well...I loved baking and I was really really really good at it. Then right into my second semester of baking classes I got a job as a pastry chef and I lived for my job. There wasn''t a day that I didn''t look forward to going to work (minus once when I was really really sick.) So when I was going to school and working, I was in school for 8 hours a day Mon-Thursday and working 10-12 hours a day Friday-Sunday. I was totally exhausted all of the time, but I loved it, so I didn''t care. Then I went into the cooking parts and it just didn''t hold the same thrill for me that Baking did. And now I bake because I crave it. I so enjoy making up new recipes and creating whatever. I don''t mind messing up because then I''m making new stuff, and I''m learning. And I love it.

My KitchenAid doesn''t get used very much! Hahaha...seriously it sits around and looks pretty a lot, and I really only use it for stuff I can''t do by hand--Meringues, whipped cream, mashed potatoes, breads...etc. I love to make Italian buttercream, and it''s impossible to do by hand, so that''s it''s main usage.

Hee hee hee at the dresses and shoes. I can''t keep them straight anymore! I love too many pairs of shoes, and I think I have a running list of about ten for the wedding. Hahahaha!!!I swear I''ll end up with about 5 pairs of wedding shoes.

Gosh, favorite pair of shoes...I have so many! I think that if I had to choose only one I''d pick my green Anne Kleins because they were such a pain in the @$$ to get. This girl''s blog details the exact same thing I went through, and she''s the reason I found them at all: Macy''s Mystery Shoe Commercial and Macy''s Shoe Mystery Solved! I spent over $36 hours combing the internet looking for those shoes. Finally when I found them, there was ONE pair left. MY SIZE. I had exactly $105 in my bank account at that point in time. The shoes were $95. I bought them anyway. I''ll upload a pic. So they are the most lusted after and the most elusive pair I own, and they took so much work to get them, that I''d have to choose them.

And boys that make girls wait (kind of) suck! And thank you for the compliment.

Harleigh--Awww...you''re so sweet! Thank you for all of your wonderful compliments! I think you''re pretty wonderful yourself!

The turtles do always sun on top of each other! They are horrible to each other too. They have long claws and they don''t hesitate to jam their claws into each others eyes and stuff, but they never seem affected by it. They are hardcore! And kind of ferocious! I adore Pembroke Welsh Corgis! Judge just had his 15th birthday and he''s still king of the house. He''s so spoiled it''s almost like having a little brother around. He''s totally worth it though.

One day, I will write my own cookbook! And you guys will all get signed copies!

Cosmo_Gal- Hi! Nice to see a fellow breast reductionee around here! (I think I made up that word!) Do you mind sharing how big you were before, and what size you are now? I''m still a LIW too (I guess I just need the bling on my finger and the announcement to be made) and that''s definitely one thing that I''ve always thought about. I remember shopping for Prom dresses and my mom dismissing so many of them because they were too...revealing. It sucked because my close friends were all small chested, so they''d get dresses that made me look like a **** star, and they would look totally normal in them! Oh it made me mad.

When we were shopping for my Senior prom dress I told my mom that I was going to pick out my wedding dress, and no matter how much boobage showed, I was not going to get any fabric added or straps sewn on--I wanted a dress that looked the way it was supposed to! Of course, that was before my reduction, so whatever. I''m anticipating having to fit the dress around my chest still, but hopefully it won''t be nearly as bad as before (when I wouldn''t have had any selection to choose from at all!)

And here are the elusive Anne Klein Shoes (I''ve posted them elsewhere on PS, but I couldn''t find the pic...) Oh! And my other shoes came! I''ll have pics up tonight!!!

Freke, why is your mother in the hospital ?????????

Minus the Stage 4 cancer, she''s dehydrated, exhausted and had some serious stomach pain this morning. So they took her to the hospital...Hopefully she will be out tomorrow, but it depends on her test results, which we''ll find out tomorrow...

Oh God Freke, that is right. I am so sorry, I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers. She needs to stay hydrated, that is so important.

I know...
7.gif
She''s really bad about it. I told her that she needed to drink as much as she can, but she just doesn''t like water or Gatorade or juice or anything...

I can''t tell you how many times I''ve talked to her about it.

...sigh....

I''ll get to pics of the shoes later. D and I are watching House.

Freke,

When I was going through chemo, I drank 7-up, cranberry juice, iced tea, etc. Does she like any of those. How about lemonade? It is so important to stay hydrated.

Linda

I mentioned tea and juice. I told her anything she could drink, to drink it. She does like lemonade most of the time, so maybe I''ll try to get her to drink more of that. It''s just that nothing tastes good to her right now. So it''s hard to try to get her to eat, much less drink. This is one of the reasons she''s lost 50 pounds since January.

I wonder if I can get her to drink milk shakes...

Freke, I hope your mom is okay soon...
35.gif

Does she get a metallic taste in her mouth after chemo?? I had that for awhile and it was hard to drink anything. It lasted only a few days though.

Milk shakes would be EXCELLENT. Fruit smoothies are another option, they are easy to make too.

Thanks DFan.

Linda It used to be, but now I think everything just tastes awful. She can''t stand sweet stuff. She''ll drink Keva juice, but that means she has to go get it first. What''s awful is that she''s on a 2 week break from chemo, and the last time she had a break, was when she spent half of it in the hospital in April. See a trend here? Ugh.

I think she''ll be ok, but I think maybe someone needs to keep a closer eye on her. I wish I could do it, but living 1/2 an hour away is not helpful. Not to mention school and gas prices...

Freke: I wish someone could keep an eye on her too. She needs to eat a lot of protein too. Hard boiled eggs, were shoved down my throat practically by my parents and DH. Roast Beef, chicken, etc. They tried to get me to drink Ensure, but I hated that stuff. The only one I loved was the eggnog one, but they don''t make that one anymore.

Can anyone make her some homemade soups??? At least she can get some liquid down that way. I wish I lived closer to her, I sure would make her some healthy things to eat, to make her feel better.

Thanks Linda...She''s actually pretty good about drinking Ensure. She drinks it on days when she can''t eat anything else. Maybe I should start bugging her to drink it some more.

I could probably try to make her some soups over my fall break. Being that I''m a decent cook and all. Then I could probably make ones that she''ll like, and a lot of individual portions she could just heat up and eat. Not to mention that I could make some high calorie cream soups. She''s been eating soup that my dad gets from Whole Foods for her. Thanks for the idea Linda.

They''ve been trying to get her to eat more red meat, but she''s terrified of mad cow disease, and E Coli, because we''ve had a few outbreaks of that lately...so. Hmmm...spinach might be something to explore.

Any other helpful hints you might have?

That is great you could make individual portions for her. You could freeze them for her, then she could heat them up. We have one of those seal a meal thingy''s and they seal soups very well.

I could come up with more ideas if it wasn''t for the mad cow disease, like stews, etc. She probably needs more iron too.

I wish you could make her a "Joe''s Special", hamburger, a little onion, spinach, Parmesan cheese. You can also make it with zucchini too. That is a name of a restaurant out here, that makes this dish.

How about chicken vegetable soup, with a lot of veggies and extra spinach? My DH has to take iron pills daily and I make it for him, also I make beef vegetable soup with spinach.

Yeah, I meant to type that she needs iron from the red meat. It''s been a long day.

She''d probably let me make something with organic beef in it. She just likes to pick around it. I''m going to have to think about that one some more. Occasionally she''ll get cravings for hamburgers and steak, but she never eats much of them.

Please, anything you can think of, feel free to write it down. I''m pretty good at tricking people into eating stuff they don''t like. I even got Dale liking asparagus! He hates veggies.

I bet I could make a cream of spinach soup. Maybe cream of asparagus too--she loves cream of asparagus. Heck, maybe I could make a cream of spinach and asparagus soup.

I''m sure I could get her to eat some spinach--that''s the easy one. But spinach is so easy to hide in anything, I mean, just chop it up and say it''s an herb. That''s how I got D to eat it.

It''s just going to be the meat that''s hard to get into her. I swear she''d turn into a vegetarian if she could get away with it.

Here''s new shoes:

Casadei in Sahara (which is not nearly as brassy in real life--more of a silvery golden color). D bought these for me.

IMG_2019 freke.jpg

And the Surf Suede Guess Drifter (I took a poll on it vs the Guess Devine last page). I bought these myself and they match my car, although they look a bit dark here.

My mom called this morning. The tests all came back negative, and the pain is due to the tumor in her liver. They have given her Percocet, and are sending her home with some. But she doesn''t get to go home until tomorrow. So yeah. Right now I''m trying to decide if I want to do homework that''s due tomorrow, or ditch class tomorrow, not do the homework and hang out with her today.

And perhaps it''s time to start thinking about moving that possible wedding date up...

Geez Freke, if it were me, I would hang out with her. Your poor dear mother. I do hope she will be ok, I will continue my prayers for her. Would you plese give her a hug for me???

Love, Linda
xoxoxoxoxoxoxo

That''s my feeling too. I''m betting she''d want me to do my homework, but that''s why I''m not going to tell her about it. So I''m composing an email to my instructor as we speak. I will give her a hug. Thank you for everything Linda.

You are very welcome Freke. Enjoy your special time with your mother.

Linda
