Hi NewEnglandLady,

I''m a fellow New England Lady here!! I am started to freak out about my veil situation, and I recall a wedding pic of you on a rock with your veil trailing in the ocean breeze. Was that you? May I ask where you got your veil?

I ordered a veil on-line. It is ballet (or waltz) length, completely sheer, straight cut edging, no beading or additions of any sort. It was $88, which I thought was a bargain, because it was on sale. The tulle does seem to be very nice, but I''m not even having a real wedding for goodness sakes. I''m considering returning it, and buying a plain chapel length one I found on craigslist for $15, but I''m sure the tulle will be less than fabulous.

Maybe there''s a happy medium out there somewhere?

Did you order yours on-line? Or from a salon?

Thanks so much!!

bump?

erh . . . and, I''m open to suggestions if anyone else wants to reply? I guess I''m looking for long, flowing, and uhm, not that expensive, and, white-white. Thanks!

don''t quote me on this, but I seem to remember NEL saying that she purchased her veil from Occansey Designs? I remember this, because I followed her link and bought my veil from there also - and I ADORE it!

Oh, did you? What''s your veil like? Is it long?

I was just looking at their site last night and became slightly overwhelmed with all of the options. How do I know what kind of fullness I want??? Poor LV

Actually - I had been planning on skipping the veil for so long, but decided that a veil would make me feel like a bride, so i bit the bullet and purchased one from Occansey, after several days of looking at online vendors and reviews from PS and other places.

I ordered a very simple veil - A sheer fullness, diamond white, elbow veil with pencil edging....nothing fancy, as my dress is already quite busy.

Check through the "Testimonials" and you can get a good sense of the various length of veils that are offered. It was super fast shipping, GREAT quality and I''m beyond thrilled with the result.

I actually have my first "hair trial" today - I''ll try to take some pictures and post them this weekend. All in all, I was VERY happy with the service and quality from Occansey.

I just found a thread where NEL mentions her veil. She said it was a chapel length veil, one layer, and 74" wide - - I''m still looking, but can''t find anything about where she purchased it just yet

Ohhhh, thank you Cleopatra! I''ll take a closer look at their site today! Good luck with your hair trial today. I''ll be looking for those pictures this weekend.

Agh! So sory I missed this!!

I just ordered a simple 1-layer chapel length veil from on online boutique.

I wish it had been a tad bit shorter--during the ceremony the wind was at my back and the veil was a real pain. For pictures it was nice, though! I think it was a bit too much for me. I think ANY length of veil looks great in the wind!

Thanks for your response NEL!

Hmmm . . . Maybe I should just keep the one I have already . . . The ballet length will be a bit easier to deal with. Decisions, decisions, never easy for a girl like me!!

Thanks for your help!

I think that length will be perfect--my friend wore a fingertip length veil to her beach wedding and it looked amazing.

I had initially planned to wear a birdcage, then when my dress turned out to be more formal than I planned and the DH started planning a more formal wedding, I thought maybe I should wear something traditional for the ceremony.

Honestly, though, I think chapel length in wind is TOO much. If I had time the morning of, I would have run outside to see how it looked and then cut it!
