I try to check in and at least lurk on the other boards, although I spend most of my time these days in BWW. I see your name popping up all over the place! I''d like to get to know who you are, if you feel comfortable sharing. From what I know, you LOVE all things jewelry related, you love vacations in fabulous sounding places, and you''re always very friendly to others here. I know you''re in NYC (did you buy that condo you wrote about?), although I think you''re originally from England (right?).

SO, what else can we learn about you?

Please do tell us about yourself Harriet!

Oh ladies, how flattering! I'll spill only if Zoe and Snlee do the same.

I'd like to get to know the two of you better as well.

Skip, you're already a pal right?

Zoe, I'm not English, though I was born and raised in a former British colony -- Singapore. I went to school in Australia (that's my lovely alma mater in my avatar), and came to the US for grad school. After a few years, I decided that I didn't like the lifestyle of an academic (too isolated, too immobile, etc.). I then defected to law school, and am now in tax law. Geeky, right? DF and I live in NYC with our 2 shih tzus. As much as we love our current apartment, it's overpriced and we won't be buying it. We've always prioritised eating and travelling, our biggest expenditures. Actually, until I came to PS, I didn't have much of a jewellery appetite (you enablers!). I was raised in a modest environment, and it's taken me a long time to get used to spending. Even now, I always have buyer's remorse. Thanks to PS, I've begun collecting coloured stones. Figuring out settings appeals to my creative side. I also collect kids' books. Nothing interesting other than that. Fire away!

Tell us how you met FI. Is he from NYC?? You said he is a Hedge Fund Partner? Wow, and you guys are in your early 30''s, right. He must be pretty smart. What do you two do for fun?

I met DF through his college roommate. DF was a senior, and I had just started grad school. He is a good Midwestern boy who moved to NYC for work. We had a long distance relationship while I was in grad school and then law school, but that has only strengthened our relationship. I''m very proud of him. He started out at an ok investment bank, and his career has taken off ever since. He''s extremely disciplined and driven, but always finds time for me. For fun, we eat and travel. Those have been priorities for us, even when we were poor students.

THanks for sharing Harriet! I actually think I knew you''re from Singapore. I must have forgotten. My FI and I prioritize eating too...way more than traveling, which is probably not a good thing.

No favourite play, but a favourite musical -- the highfalutin'' Mamma Mia! My favourite restaurant in the world is Tetsuya of Sydney. It serves Japanese fusion. I normally avoid fusion, but this is something else. Some of my favourites in the US are Per Se (contemporary American?; NY) and Zingerman''s Roadhouse (good ''ole American like chicken friend steak; MI). My most memorable meal was at Tetsuya, which ended my most memorable eating day. That day, we also had a great breakfast and lunch. I''ll stop before I sound too piggy. Person I admire? Not sure. I''ll get back to you on that.

Over to you!

I''m boring.

Plays/musicals it''s all live entertainment. I haven''t seen Mama Mia! We''re going to see the traveling company of Avenue Q tonight, I''m really excited.

Kimberly is not boring that's for sure!

Does FI miss the slower pace of the MW if he lived in a smaller town??
Does your family live here too? Do you have siblings?
I am glad you found a good guy

and he found a good gal

You''re not boring, just less garrulous than some of us! Have fun watching Avenue Q! It''s highly entertaining.

Oh, Harriet...I am so glad you have shared! You and Skip are two of my fav posters and I love hearing about your endeavors!

BRAVO on a lovely life!

DF thrives on the pace of NY, as do I. Unfortunately, my parents don''t live here (I''m an only child). Thank goodness for the direct flight to Singapore!
I''m glad we both found good guys. Mine can be frustrating though (he says the same about me).

Wow, that''s the first time I''ve been told I don''t talk too much, Harriet, I''m so excited! I have one of those mouths that never quits, especially when I''m uncomfortable.

Favorite subject to study? Pet peeves?

Kimberly, Avenue Q was a riot! X rated Sesame Street is how I would describe it!

If, no when, we meet, you'll be doing the talking. I'm rather quiet in real life.

Favourite subjects: The Internal Revenue Code (!) and gemstones.
Pet peeves: Rudeness, rudeness, and rudeness.

Since you are a talker, TALK!

Your pet peeve covers the gamut!

I just asked John and he said he wouldn''t classify me as a "talker" so I guess you know me better than I know myself! I just feel like I talk too much.

Favorite way to relax?

What is your favorite food? Do you like pizza?

Cake!

I like pizza in moderation. What about you? Do you like thin crust pizza? If so, let''s have some when you come.

NO cake, sorry. Only carrot
27.gif
Gosh I am naughty today; maybe not enough sleep on my end. Just teasing.
Actually I not a big cake person. What kind do you like? I love pizza but don't eat it too often cuz it goes straight to my butt!
