Finding funds for a new stone is always a good thing. I am trying to focus on Christmas gifts but I''d so much rather be looking for some new jewel for me.

Harriet: I apologize for snarking at you about hedge funds, private equity, etc. I have a history with some of them and really despise them as a group but that''s not your fault. I blame them for a lot of what has happened as they took their unregulated status and really created havoc in the markets and continue to today. I think the world will be a better place with 2/3 of them gone but again, that''s not your fault. You''ve been gracious with your comments and assistance on my aquamarine thread and I appreciate that. Not sure I would be if someone had been taking potshots at me although plenty of people in the business do that

I am recovering from a bad cold but am probably about 90% better now. I am very sorry about not being able to go home for Christmas too, especially because my grandfather''s been diagnosed with Alzheimer''s and isn''t doing very well.

I hope to be able to go home at Easter, though, so I should be able to see him then.

No hard feelings. DH and I actually agree with you that a shakeout will be good. I myself despise a particular PE shop (clue: Linens n'' Things), and would like to hear if you have any opinions of it. As for gems, I''m always game to help.
