Oh boy - I couldn''t pass it up - a little OEC ring!

I only meant to go window shopping - my first trip out to find and OEC or OMC diamond in real life, and this ring presented itself at a little antique shop in the next town. It was love at first sight. It''s a .52 set in platinum with little sapphires. Engraved is the date 1-5-37.

I posted a couple more pictures on the Art Deco thread today.

We''re playing tag! Yes, they are sapphires and the blue is very nice in person! They''re dark, but blue. The corners are engraved platinum, and there''s engraving on the band, too.

Thank you, coatimundi! I'll have to get back to you on more photos because my camera's batteries died on me! I also think I need a newer camera - I have a hard time getting closeups even with the tulip mode!

I couldn't pass this ring up after browsing antique websites for rings and loose stones - the gentlemen who owned the shop was truly generous with me. Another woman had come into the shop 2 minutes before me, also looking for old stones. He had gotten a few rings out, and we both fell for the same two rings. She had first pick, and I got this one, which was actually the one I liked the best. She got an Old Miners Cut - it was really cool! I think he was thrilled to get 2 sales within 5 minutes!

Sera - seeing the date makes me wish I knew the history of the ring! 1-5-37 fell on a Tuesday - I googled it!

SanDiegoLady - I love the designs of the Art Deco period. I went out hoping to see Edwardian jewelry with old diamonds, but fell in love with this sweet Deco ring. (and of course, I love your sapphires and diamond ring!)
