Hi all
Looking to buy per loved vintage OEC right hand ring . Less than half a carat . Sthing unusual and different that won't break the bank . Budget of 500-700 dollars. Have never seen an old European cut except on line . Has anyone see any OEC rings to buy ? Thanks

Hi @Trionacat :wavey: I have a couple of OEC rings I’ve been thinking of parting with to fund other projects. One is within the range of your budget and has a .36ct stone. The other would be outside of it, but is 20k white gold with a .54ct center and I think it’s a beautiful ring! Let me see if I can dig up some photos.

Ok... I didn’t need have any of the .36ct so I took some quick shots. It’s really overcast here today, so this is in the worst lighting. It’s a ring conversion from a piece that has 4 blue sapphire as accent stones. Definitely qualifies as an unusual ring, imho.

The other I have a couple photos of... this was after I had it checked out and cleaned/polished.

These fuzzy pics are to show the profile, which I find to be so beautiful in the way it curves to the underside. :kiss2:

I just now saw your post, Trionacat - so sorry! We’re still suffering from May gray and haven’t seen sunshine for days. :nono: I took these indoors and by the window in natural light.

The center was noted as G color and VS clarity when I originally bought it. DK had suggested it’s higher when he looked it over. The center stone dimensions are 4.78mm x 4.69mm, and the entire head of the ring is 9.06mm x 9.15mm.

My contact info is on LT (under the same username as here) if you’d like to chat further. =)2

Thanks! I love antique shopping with my daughter. We’ve found some great things during our trips. It’s a lot of fun, but expensive fun. :shifty::lol:

Hi @Trionacat! :wavey: I just wanted to follow-up and let you know I decided to go ahead and list the OEC ring since I was posting other items on LT. One thing I wanted to clarify was I had made a typo above - the center is actually .39cts.

Hope you’re having success in your search. =)2

If you are still looking I am considering selling my little beloved Oec. Centre stone measures 4.5mm diameter (approx 1/2 carat) with 2 single cut accents in fishtail setting.

Colour approximated as m by prosumers and jeweller (golden brownish tones not yellow), great clarity - 100% eye clean and said to be clean at 10x loupe. Crisp faceting, tiny table and just so pretty. It gets compliments wherever I go.

Pictured next to an e graded rb.

Does that ring seem like a match for my grandmother’s wedding band? My mom gifted me the engagement ring when I turned 16. I was wearing at the mall one day and lost it. Didn’t realize it had slipped off my finger! I cried for a long time. That’s been 30 years and I have always hoped to find a match for it as I now have the wedding ring.

Haha omg!!! It certainly does look like a match! It’s funny how events such as losing a cherished piece haunt you... I lost my mothers cameo ring at school when I was 7 or 8 years old, or thereabouts (I loved jewelry and would wear her rings unbeknownst to her). I felt remorse, guilt and sadness until about 5 years ago (I’m 33 now) when I bought her another gorgeous cameo ring lol. And it didn’t end there- the feelings were so ingrained I ended up giving her another amazing cameo ring I bought for myself afterwards too lol.

That does seem like a great match! I hope it works out and you can complete your set again.
