Hello OEC experts and/or lovers.
The photos aren’t very good, but the best my husband and I could do. If we had tried any harder, I would be setting this baby in a right hand ring instead of an engagement ring because my husband would divorce me.
EGL USA 1.36 VS1 K
7.03x7x4.64
66.1 depth
42 table
18.7 crown
45.5 pavilion
Thin girdle
Small culet
No fluorescence
Good symmetry and polish
Any input is appreciated. Complete honesty is great. I will only be offended if everyone ignores me. This girl is certainly pretty in real life, full of fire and sparkle. I expect to keep her but highly value your opinions before making a final decision. This was no steal as I paid almost 6K. Fair price?

I love the look of it! I think the price is fair, and the stone looks great!

It looks like a beautiful OEC to me.

Thanks, G and B!

Cut looks awesome from those pics. Price is fair.

Can you open your original photos at highest resolution and crop them so the diamond fills the whole image? That will "zoom in" on the diamond and let us see the faceting.

It does look really pretty!

I like the pattern, looks good!

Very very pretty!

Thanks everyone for the quick response.
Dreamer, when I upsize the photos, they get grainy and out of focus. Can you still see something in that case? I can give it a try this evening.
Didn't want to gush too much until I heard from several knowledgeable people, which I have. (Thanks to all who responded as I include each of you in that catagory.)
This diamond (from OWD) is stunning in every light. Maybe I can get better pics at some point. (The PS recommendation of Adam was a good one, by the way.)
I think the EGL grading is accurate. It is very clean without too much color. I had a round brilliant that was a little over 1.50, and this OEC "looks" bigger. The fire and flash is amazing. I've not seen a lot of old cuts and have never seen anything like this in person. :lickout:

Oh, Dreamer, I think I get what you are saying and will try that.

Anna, I love it! Bright and beautiful with lovely faceting!!!

And LOL on the dh and right hand ring if you had him take more pics! I can totally relate hahaha. I drive my dh crazy with this stuff sometimes but now that I use my samsung phone (switched phones 2 years ago) it's much easier and I don't ask for his help with pics. But I laughed out loud when I read your first post with your dh and the pictures.

I think it will make a beautiful ring and I am so happy you found a gorgeous OEC! :appl:

Thanks, Missy. Glad you can relate. My dh is actually very handy in most situations, just not a great photographer.
I still don't get how all of you get such good shots. I've even seen good photos from an Iphone, but that doesn't work for me either. I read a PS link, which is the only reason we got any photos that didn't look like the diamond was a just a bright flash.

Don't upsize them. Just crop them to get rid of all the extra background and then they will appear larger when you post them here.

I agree that there is something mesmerizing about the facet patterns in OEC's! Just be careful when driving! I might have to take mine off while driving!

Just open the original high resolution photo and crop it so only the diamond is in the frame. No upsizing. Just cropping! If the original image from your phone is very high resolution then the cropped image will still be high resolution just smaller in size.

Yes, the photo tips make sense. The photos are from a digital camera. I'll resend this evening. I do want you to get a better look. Thanks.
