OEC Journey Continues - Stone thoughts

Wanted to shoot an update - I found this beauty stuck incorrectly in the round section of LGD (which I have looked at every day for about a month lol) and ordered it. It was too beautiful to me to let it go and is has been one of the first stones I've seen that I had such a strong reaction to. If I don't love it in person, return is my best friend.

LOOK HOW BRIGHT SHE IS. AND THE TINY TABLE. https://loupe360.com/diamond/LG659413220.

Very promising! Please post pictures when you get it!!

OH WOW!!! I cant wait to see it!!!!!!!!! I really like it from the video!

Looks amazing! Can I ask what was the price?

Partial update - my jeweler reached out to me again with two more stones that I went and looked at today. First video of in the Imgur link. I really liked the top one - it is more my taste that the ones from the last time. I think It has great flickering with the petals and pastel flashes. At times in the video it looks dark, but it really didn't look like that in person.

The one I ordered isn't in yet sadly. I was hoping to have it to go in and compare with.

The second video is of that diamond stuck with sticky tack (so it looks gray and smudgy, ignore that) to what is the most surprising thing I've ever loved. It is so extra, but I legitimately may set my stone in it, and I think everyone needs to see it. The rubies are the most beautiful natural, deep red rubies I have seen. It was designed and made in house, and my jeweler matched each individual ruby. Ughh.

Side quest - I told her I ordered one I was waiting on before making any sort of decision and she asked me what I paid. I told her 950 and I think she almost died. I was explaining how I found it, the sites I've used and looked at, etc, and she's like I've never gotten a diamond with those specs that cheap. Mind you, she is one of the kindest and most transparent person I've ever met - she has done things for me and friends in the past - so I truly believe her. When I got home, I hunted down the my favorite stone she showed me, the top stone, on LGD for 1540 and the jeweler had retail at 5600. It was always one I had saved before ironically. I have to wonder what price they had access to for it, and I hope that hooking her up with a wholesale account at LGD or somewhere similar changes the game for her :lol-2:
If I do go with the top one, it will be me ordering it elsewhere and paying my jeweler a finders fee for bringing it in for me to see.

Regardless, here are links to the 360s for the diamonds I saw in person. I think it's a fun comparison.

Top diamond on my hand from video (the one I liked the most) https://www.medialink.email/v1/admin/diamonds/110625017/non_orbit

Second Diamond (also on LGD but for 3354) https://www.medialink.email/v1/admin/diamonds/115546955/non_orbit

Will return again. Thanks for staying tuned in the saga, I'm having a blast.

Yes the one you like it nicely cut. Not totally authentic to an old cut but a nice pattern. I can see why you like it.

I think buying it in LGD and paying your jeweler for her time makes sense. It would be simply bonkers to pay $5600.

And I hate that - I'd rather my money go to locally owned store by good people, but not to the tune of +4k. I could buy a 1.5 ish true antique diamond for the 5600 if I hunted. Plus now I need all my money for that giant setting

I ordered a second stone for fun that should be here tomorrow because it looked like a lovely quilt pattern that is very different than the other one I ordered. I kept going back to it. It's for science.

That’s not a nice one. Sorry! Lots of leakage under the table.

my "for science" diamond came, and it is totally my favorite out of the ones I've seen. I think that solidifies I don't love the ideal versions of these cuts hahaha.

Is this the 900-ish one you found stuck in with the rounds??? I really like it!! Especially if it was $900 lol- it looks huge!

I like them both for different reasons so it's hard. They're different styles. But I think I like the smaller one best. I like fat flashes it gives.

I like the color and chunky flashes the “for science” diamond throws off but you said the larger stone didn’t have the same lighting so likely not a fair comparison. I think the larger stone’s facet pattern is much prettier - almost has a snowflake quality <3

I like the "for science" one better, but that's just personal preference for me. The 2nd one is more traditionally ideal as @Dreamer_D said. If you don't end up keeping the "for science" one please let me lmow because I'll buy it from you!

The issue that the “for science” one is going to have is obstruction and leakage under the table. So try sitting with it with your back to a window and gazing at it at about hand length or looking at it while you’re sitting and typing, etc. Make sure that you’re OK with how those central under table facets function in less than ideal situations. Both the videos that you showed are taken in shaded diffuse lighting which is basically the best that you can get in terms of showing facet patterning and avoiding obstruction. For leakage, take it into high spot lighting or bright lighting. Make sure you like it everywhere. Ideally do this with the other as well so you can compare. Then you can be sure if your choice!

I decided last night to go with a slightly smaller natural. My husband gave me the buy what you really want pep talk cause he's the best haha. I'll post the one I ordered on the thread over in antiques.
I will be returning and/or selling these two - @lovedogs has 1st dibs on the smaller one.
If you want them, I'm happy to send them to you for what I paid + shipping! I just have to take them to be returned this weekend if not. Thank you all for your help and information! It's so fun, haha.

Oops this one is only 8.3. You can get it for cheaper if you by buy directly from them.

Ditto with this stone:

This vendor just had a 10% off sale. They have a lot of options in different cut flavors.

Many old cuts have a "white top"-meaning they face up whiter than grade (GIA grades from the bottom). Here's a thread on my old GIA M color stone:

lulu_ma, Your OEC is to die for!

ugh dammit I saw "smaller" and didn't realize it was still 2.5ct lol. Too big for my personal comfort, but I'm going to try and find something similar. Appreciate you giving me dibs though! And I'm happy you're going with what you really want. I've regretted 100% of purchases I made when trying to "settle" for something.

I posted it on loupe troop w/ my same username and labelled it as pending sale. You can use that to message me!

Found both on loose grown diamond! They had others with tiny tables and tall crowns, they're just buried.
