Considering this diamond for a custom halo setting! I need help deciding if this is the stone or if I should keep looking.

Center stone on inspiration ring (1.45ct) http://www.trumpetandhorn.com/phinney-ridge.html
Current stone: (0.68ct)
Ring Size: 6/6.5

I love the look and proportions of the original, but I'd like to stay under 1 ct. Vendor said this stone is a good size for the design and my hand. Thoughts on the quality/size of the center stone?

5.59 x 5.72 x 3.28mm
0.68 ct
J color
VS2
polish/symmetry: good
fluorescence: none
Clarity characteristics: cavity, feather, crystal
Table: 56%
Depth: 58.1%

You need to post a good clear pic of the stone that's the way I tell or a video or something showing the actual diamond.

How much are they asking for it? Can they give you clearer pictures/video in natural light?
The table and depth are a bit outside what most people prefer for OECs - bigger table and shallower depth. But they are basically fancies so numbers aren't the be-all and end-all. Your eyes would be the best judge.
For a comparison tho, here are some similar ones on Jewels By Grace:
Same clarity, higher colour: http://www.jewelsbygrace.com/loose-diamonds/80ct-oec-diamond-gia-g-vs2#.WPSOGb2xX7o
Same clarity, higher colour: http://www.jewelsbygrace.com/loose-diamonds/83ct-oecut-diamond-gia-i-vs2#.WPSOJb2xX7o

I'm getting photos/video tomorrow! The cost for the 0.68ct is $1700.

Here's another one they have for $2200 - https://www.gia.edu/report-check?reportno=2175575230

0.89ct (6.00mm x 6.04mm x 3.85mm) old European brilliant, K color, VS2

This one is way deeper

The first stone you found is shallow for an OEC (might still be pretty though). The 63.9 on the second
stone is more typical. Really cant tell anything about OECs without up close pictures and videos.
Post when you get them!

These aren't that great, screen captures of a video. This is the 0.89 stone. It looks beautiful in motion, but I don't really know much about judging OEC quality.. thoughts?? I don't have a face up image.

This is the 0.68 stone, also random screenshots!

Looping back to see if anyone can help me pick between these two stones! The halo design is currently being made for the K color, but I was told the J was a better value. Any advice??

I like the profile of the K better than the J but wish there was a face on shot to see the facet pattern. Do you have any front on pics? Which one do you like the most when you watch the videos? Who told you the J was better value?

Here are the photos of the 0.89 for $2200 - @foxinsox any thoughts??20170421_182422.jpg IMG_8586.jpg IMG_8587.jpg

I quite like that actually - do you?

I think it's very pretty, but I'm not seeing that flowery OEC look I've seen on other threads.. maybe it's the lighting?

Going to see it in person tomorrow. It looks pretty eye clean to me, something I'm missing? It's supposed to have a cavity and feather somewhere..

Might be - I thought it looked flowery in the shot resting on the hand and also in some of your video stills. Fingers crossed it's good in person. Are you restricted to only these two or can you buy from another vendor? Also the 0.89 is the one with the one with the small table and high crown? the screenshots look like they might be switched around?

That JBG 0.83 is delicious. Are you considering it instead of the other one?

I was, but it has feather and chip and bruise listed. The 0.89 has a feather, crystal and cavity listed... not sure which is worse! Lol

@foxinsox I just read the feather article that says avoid bruises and cavities :O they might be unavoidable for my price range though
