My quote from Pearlman''s for the Shodt lined in yellow gold has me reeling from sticker shock, so I''m thinking of other options for my light yellow oec. I''ve always loved the idea of a ruby and diamond three stone ring with yellow gold, however I''m very picky about the "flow" of the mounting.

So, I''d like your opinions on.....

1) what do you think of this combo?
2) suggestions for a three stone mounting?

3) anything else you''d be willing to share about this oec and possible mounting options?

Are you looking for Modern or Vintage style?

Delicate or more substantial?

Glam or Understated? (Lots of diamonds or more metalwork)?

The way you have them laid out there - it almost looks like they''re bar set. Which looks cool! I think the color combo would be fun!

understated, no pave, sleek and terribly classic

That's because I couldn't get the stones close together with the current bridge setting. I don't want anything as "contemporary" as bar set, probably prong, but bezel could be okay too. Think Vatche truffle or Snooper's new Leon three stone. That's the kind of "sleek" I'm imagining.

What sort of budget are you looking at? Setting hunt!!!!

Well, the Scholdt mounting is coming in at just over $2000, so I''d like to be under that.

Ouch.

I go looksee.

Yeah, that bezel looks too bulky.

The WF trellis might work, but I''d want the whole thing in 18k yellow to maximize the stones. I''d ADORE the W prong three stone, but....... $$$$$

Yeah, I didn''t even bother suggesting it, LOL. But I luuuuuvs it!

I immediately thought of the WF U-prong. It would be stunning in YG. Maybe minus the surprise diamonds (although I love them). Or is it too vintage feel for you, or not fluid enough?

I thought of ericad''s new e-ring, but maybe it''s too vintage? It''s bezel three-stone but it has milgrain.

What''s your budget for the setting? :)

Are those rubies or pink sapphires?

Have you thought about looking into Knox?

Love this:

Coati, was just coming to post that one!!! It''s gorgeous!!!

Now *that* is a three stone!

I think Coati''s suggestion is beautiful.

I found this 3-stone on Wink''s site and the site says the cost is 790 -- not sure if that''s true or not. Anyway, I thought the photo would help you visualize one possible layout (with the stones angled away from the center).

Have you considered the Knox Countour Trellis - I think its lovely - here''s a link and would look stunning w/ an OEC and rubies
