Pirard, CRD, Lovinggems, Tucs, Ennui, NL, thank you, I am very excited to be adopting this little guy. I got to see 4RG’s bronze octo baby over lunch yesterday, and I was very impressed by the level of detail. I can’t wait until my octo baby is home!

NL, I love the way the octo looks framed by your gorgeous rope. I’ll have to copy that look. How fun that you’ll be adding an enamel baby to your collection. I have the feeling that I’ll end up needing a second one too, lol. :naughty:

Lovinggems, did you decide which type of gold to use for yours?

Dear Kay I chose 14k rose gold. :)

I can't wait to see the first rose gold octopus!

Me too!

Re: Octopus babies in a large range of colors, now how to de

Is the gold and diamond version in the works? Little black diamonds studded into the tentacles? :naughty:

Re: Octopus babies in a large range of colors, now how to de

Or little gleaming diamond eyes ... :) Or sapphire, or ...

Re: Octopus babies in a large range of colors, now how to de

I confess, I added another little pearl to mine. There's a bottom tentacle that curves like a hand, and it looked like it wanted to hold something. So I added a little 5mm white pearl from my grab bag. I just tacked it on with a tiny bit of rubber cement, in case I change my mind. I can post photos tomorrow if anyone is interested.

Hey Ennui, I'd like to see your little fellow with the two pearls.

He looks adorable!

Re: Octopus babies in a large range of colors, now how to de

Do you really think so? I can't decide ... the white pearl looks very ... bright. But, I like the "look what I found!" aspect. I plan to wear it around the house today, because I sort of anticipate that the white pearl will fall off.

I wish the Tahitian photographed better, it is a very pretty iridescent green.

Every time I look at ckrickett's Big Papa, I think I want one. :)

Ennui thanks for posting the picture. I think it is a cute way to wear your octo and when you want a different look you can take it off. The most important thing is that you like it this way so enjoy this cutie

Re: Octopus babies in a large range of colors, now how to de

Ringo is an adventurous octopus  and looks to be having fun :appl: :appl: :appl:

Re: Octopus babies in a large range of colors, now how to de

I love the octopus treasure Ennui :)

Re: Octopus babies in a large range of colors, now how to de

And I agree...the added pearl looks fun! Like he's proud of his treasure.

Re: Octopus babies in a large range of colors, now how to de

Beautiful octo photos Ennui and Pirard, I can't wait to wear mine.

Re: Octopus babies in a large range of colors, now how to de

Lovinggems, your silver Kamoka baby is gorgeous! I love that color combination.

Ennui, I like your octo baby holding his treasure.

Pirard, Ringo looks like quite the playful fellow.

I’d like to introduce you to my new octo baby, Ulysses. Ulysses took a long, two-week voyage down, then up, then back down the California coast on the SS Postal Incompetence, and we feared he might be lost forever, but he finally made it home safely to me. I think he is a very handsome fellow.

Here he is sunning himself poolside:

His tentacles are beautifully detailed:

I have a hard time capturing his lovely purple and green coloring, especially the way PS seems to "flatten" photos.

Kay what a perfect octo baby. Love the enamel on him. It enhances the pearl beautifully. Did you send that pearl to Sheri?

Ulysses is a very handsome fellow! Love the colors, and they are perfect with that pearl.

Re: Octopus babies in a large range of colors, now how to de

Thank you all for your kind words. Sheri did such a great job of using the green and purple shades of enamel to match the colors in the pearl head.

4RG, Sheri made this one with one of her pearls and I had to have him when Nacrelover posted his photo a little while back. I may have Sheri make me a silver one with one of my loose pearls.
