Octavia ring at Diamonds by Lauren!

Wow that’s a beauty!

I think I may be pilloried for this, but I don’t thing that all that micro pave & yellow gold, pink halo is helping that incredibly lovely stone.

The streamlined step cut lines of the Octavia and all that round yellow & pink garishness is a style mismatch - at least to me. David is a dream to work with and an absolutely rockstar here on PS but - so it pains me to say this - but that setting is just too much. Things can become too bourgeoisie…fine line, but I fear it’s crossed here.

Imagine that STUNNING Octavia in a YG halo or cup, then imagine those pink sparklers next to Octavia in a channel, then a colorless diamond baguette halo in a platinum bezel , with white stones in the shoulders. - not all the way around the entire setting. It would be an Art Deco inspired wonder.

I looked at the ring long and hard a wee while, ago, but that much pave bulking a step cut up just isn’t a look I could live with. Nor could I imagine pulling the setting apart as I can only imagine the time and attention that went into it. But as she sits, she makes me think of Joan Collins in Dynasty (not a compliment in my mind ). That said, to each their own And I hope this is someone’s dream ring.

I agree.

I kind of agree too….
I adore that ring…. but it’s probably not the best vehicle for that Octavia.
It’s part of the thrill/ risk of operating a company that actually makes jewelry on spec - as opposed to only making pieces that people order.
If you never experiment/ test the boundaries….. it gets ….boring??

Didn't think these words would ever come out of my mouth in my entire lifetime, but...
That's a sexy diamond.

Oh, for just the center stone…. :kiss2: The debris on the ring had me laughing though :lol-2:

A while back I asked DBL about buying the stone loose, since I agree about the setting. Unfortunately (and totally valid), they spent $$ on the setting so it wouldnt make sense for them financially. But man I adore that diamond so much.

OMG that diamond!!! I would buy it without the setting.

Can the vendor maybe get a custom cut colored stone for the setting?

Rockdiamond, I love your response. Anything that elaborate will appeal to some and not to others. But can I say, how grateful I am to see an Octavia ring? And you made it happen. Keep on keepin' on.

And that’s one of the many reasons you’re adored!
