Octahedron with "star" inclusion

Honestly I think a setting with only a horizontal bar across the middle is the most visually stunning in a minimalist geometric way.

Second favorite of the pictures shown earlier in the thread is the cage.

Has anyone posted a pic of not a cage, but a tight fit 3-D bezel?

Don’t mean to hijack your thread, but if it helps, here is a pic of my spinning portrait hexagon:

And my non-spinning 3-D LGD faceted sphere in a 2-D bezel:

@Starstruck8 @Dreamer_D DK got my stone, yay! It's going to GIA first and then he will create the necklace.

Still trying to figure out the design. DK does NOT recommend drilling now that he's seen it. 1. It devalues the stone, and 2. Apparently it voids the GIA cert bc you drilled into it.

So I'm kind of stuck again trying to figure it out. I really like the idea you drew @Starstruck8

Somebody will probably drill a LGD octahedron eventually!

How serendipitous - I was searching for something else and a post from this thread was in the results. I was about to ping you and ask how the project was going and your update appeared. This turned out fantastic, I love it! I can't wait to see neck shots.

Very unique and special - I can’t wait to see it either!!

Bump :p

Very cool diamond, and a beautiful story.
I don't have a lot to add other than to mention that Willie Nelson has a wonderful song on one of his more recent albums called Blue Star. Check it out, I think you'll like it :-)

It's here and so special.

I love that it spins, and that the star is visible much of the time. I need to get used to the "pointy" ends touching my skin, but that's the only downside.

I need to buy a different chain/dog swivel clasp, but this is a decent temporary way to wear it.

Very unique idea and execution! The star seems to almost always be visible. Such a special piece - wear it in health and happiness always!!

Awesome! Congrats on a fabulous project.

Touching the skin can be looked at as a feature, not a bug. ;-)

So great! And you can pretty much bet no one else will ever have a piece like this.

That is so very cool!
