NY Appraisals

Anyone in New York? Once i get my stone picked and have the ring put together and sent to me, im assumign the next thing i should do is have an appraisal done. Anyone know of a reputable appraiser in New York so i dont have to ship out the ring anywhere.?

If there is not an appraiser near you another option is to have the vendor send the e-ring to the appraiser of your choice and then the appraiser will send the e-ring to you. Saves you one way on shipping.

bgd said they have an appraiser int heir building and for an additional $75 they can have it done for me.. is that a bad idea? should it be someone totally independent of BGD??
