I got a baguette and round alternating ring! Which means...I am getting my upgrade soon! I can hardly stand it. Furthur down are pictures of my diamond, which also came in today. I looove it.
Requisite hand shot. Forgive the color - I forgot to change my white balance settings so everything was orange, and I tried to color correct it in photoshop and...well, it looks weird. Lol.
And here is the little beauty! She is a gorgeous, sparkly 1.36 carats and was the chunkiest, fattest cushion cut I could find. She''s also considered an S2, and I took a pic that shows the reason why here. Two tiny black specks in the bottom that you absolutely cannot see unless you are using my macro lens. I love her.
So ladies, here is where my quest begins again - I need to find a setting for my cushion that will look good with the band I got. (I know, should have gotten the ring setting first, but this band was SO PRETTY.) I was thinking maybe getting a custom halo setting, no diamonds on the band itsself, with baguettes on the flat sides of the girdle and rounds on the corners. Should be fairly inexpensive, too. But if anyone knows of a ring that would look good with this, let me know! I''d like it keep the price fairly low, too, so nothing over 1k (for now). If nothing springs up I can wait a month or two to save pennies for what I want.
How could you resist that band?? It''s so gorgeous and delicate! Love the cushion, and know you will find a fab setting for it that works with the band w/ no problems. Congrats on both!! (and looking forward to many more photos of the pair down the line
I love that band! I, too, would love to know where you found that wispy, lovely thing. Your cushion looks like a beauty as well. I''m interested to see the finished ring!
I agree that you should do a lovely, simple solitaire, maybe something with double claw prongs? My preference is for the elegant fluid lines of a cathedral-style setting, but not too wide, maybe 2mm max so as not to overwhelm the delicate wedding band.
