Now I really did it :((

Hi, missy. I have been back to Pricescope a few times because I was visiting the fragrance forum and I didn't see your usual (omnipresent) presence. I finally did a search on your name, which at one time in Pricescope history would have have been an unthinkable need for anyone to do if he wanted to find you.

I haven't read or posted on your thread for many years, since you were first injured. I always felt I could keep up with your news because you were so active in the other Pricescope fora.

Now that I read the MIA quotation and I have glanced at this thread (I hope to look into it since you are doing your posting here), I see that there has been a sea change in your relationship to Pricescope.

There has been in mine, too. I used to be on Pricescope every day for years. I never had any negative feelings about Pricescope and never had any conflict with the owners or administration. Sometimes I have seen my username invoked when a poster or poster wants to advocate for political posting on Pricescope. I do not believe I ever did that. I still love Pricescope and come back for the holiday (Christmas) music thread and Karl's 9/11 thread every year. Now and then I pop in for another reason. I have been enjoying the fragrance thread and just met @pearlsngems in person. She is the first Pricescoper I ever met in real life!

But for the past five years I have spent a lot of time on a site that exists for political debate. My political worldview is such that looking the world straight in the eye is not pleasant and sometimes I don't know if I can keep it up. I want to shut off the television and not read any news.

But no one came here to hear about me. I am going to go back and see what I can piece together about your life. When we last spoke, you were in a dire situation with your kitties.

Hugs,
Deb (AGBF)

And as soon as we get back I spend a lot of time with Bobby hugging him and petting him and loving him. I feel his time with us is drawing near and I am very sad about that. I still cry over Tommy daily (yesterday was the 6 month anniversary of his death) and then of course start thinking about Francesca (6 year anniversary of her death was last week) and Fred and Butch, Buster, Billy and it does make my heart heavy. I take solace in the fact they were all rescues and we gave them the best life possible after rescuing them from the streets and rescue groups. But still. I wish so hard that our furry babies lived longer. Thanks for letting me share. I miss them so....

Dear missy,

I am sorry to read that Tommy did die. I am glad that you and Greg are able to give Bobby a lot of time and care. I have not gotten over the death of my last dog, Hero. My two attempts at getting another dog-neither made until more than a year after his death- didn't work out. I am not trying to rush into anything. I want to be sure I will be around or have someone else reliable around-if I take on another dog.

What bothers me so much about Hero, who was a scarred and abused rescue, was how short a life he had getting cancer and a bad heart at only six. Like you, I can only take solace that I gave him a wonderful life. I had an acquaintance once say that he wanted to die and come back back as one of my dogs. :)

Your cats are the most loved animals on earth. (Along with my dogs, of course.)

Hugs,
Deb

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!

I would talk about the stinky weather but that is boring. So I won't. Now the leaves are well into turning color and falling. Excellent. No further mention of that either.;(

Anyway, I hope everyone who follows here is well. Looking at doing some home renos although I find the idea stressful. But the flooring needs help.

cheers--Sharon

Happy Caturday Saturday NIRDIs!
It's another beautiful summer weekend here
We have been cycling daily and have reached over 7000 miles now woohoo

Thank you all for your generous and kind birthday wishes. Much appreciated. I cannot believe my age because in my head I am still 34 LOL

@canuk-gal yes, home renovations are so stressful but usually well worth it..good luck with whatever you decide to do (((Hugs)))

@AGBF Hero was a lucky baby indeed. You gave him the best life possible despite the lousy health cards he was dealt. I mourn all our beloved furry babies who are now gone. It still hurts. Doing all we can for them but ultimately life is short especially for our furry sweet babies. Thank you for your kind words. Sending you hugs and love

@Austina thank you dear friend for your sweet message...how is Colin doing? When is his next cataract surgery for the other eye? Hope he is seeing well and feeling well XOXO

@MamaBee hope the house sale is going smoothly and you are all doing well. It is always stressful selling your home and remember one day at a time. I cannot believe how fast this summer is going XOXO

@Inked girl we are on the same page...hugs and love to you

@springerspaniel good morning...hope you are enjoying this last month of summer XOXO

@marcy big hugs and lots of love...hope all is going well and no more bad weather for any of us..Mother Nature has been on a rampage for sure

@Slickk yay no end of vacation for you...August feels very different now doesn't it? Hugs to you and Bear

Hello everyone else. It's been a great week filled with cycling, furry babies, friends and sweet ice cream. Hope you are all enjoying the summer as much as we are

I ordered 6 dresses from my very favorite online store and they just arrived last night and omg they are all amazing...retro inspired and Greg loves them on me..I just did a little fashion show for him at 5AM this morning

A couple of days ago we reached 7000 miles!!!!

Hi girls! The first couple that walked into the house offered and we accepted! The offer had no contingencies which is a huge deal for a 120 year old house! We skip inspections, etc. The settlement date is September 15!
I hope everyone is well. Things should settle down a bit..Talk soon! ❤️

Whoop!! Incredible news. I'm delighted for you and congratulations.

@MamaBee, I have been following along . It is wonderful news!

Hi NIRID's!

I am far behind and will try to read through recent posts. I miss you ladies and hope all is well. I'm working and goofing off. I seem busy for a retired person.

Here's a good chuckle (or it amused me anyway) of a critter in our field this morning.

Hi NIRDI’s!

@MamaBee wow to selling your house so quickly. I remember that fun-filled adventure or packing and moving very well. I’m so glad to hear you are stable now.

@Austina landscapers is hard work. We had to get eight trees per covenants and had two planted already. Last Saturday we bought six more pines but since we don’t have our pickup right now we opted to have someone pick them up and plant them. That was more expensive than the trees. I hope your weather cools off soon. I hope Colin’s is doing well after his cataract surgery. Your yard looks fabulous. Ours is mostly weeds.

@Missy I am so sorry to hear about Tommy. Big hugs to you and Greg. And woo hoo for reaching 7,000 miles. You guys rock.

@canuk-gal I haven’t noticed any fall colors yet, we’re still in the crazy severe thunderstorm cycle. More about that fun later. Are you doing anything other than your floors? When we did that at our last house, it quickly escalated to more and more upgrades. I enjoyed seeing the picture of your Tiffany yellow diamond again. I think of you every time I see anything Tiffany. I need to get sizing bumps put in my Tiffany band so I can wear it again.

We’ve been crazy busy. I seem to be working more and more and will be filling in for another editor for two weeks starting next Friday so I am trying to work ahead on my stuff. My boss wanted me to at least be on camera in my videos so I do a hi and bye. Ugh. Not a fan, but I’m doing it. I did finally figure out how to get it done in a timely matter.

Marty’s pickup had hail damage in mid-July. We turned it in to Ford the following week and they had it all repaired except the hood and grill. It was out in Ford’s back parking lot when a bigger hail storm hit and literally trashed the pickup again. The only part that didn’t need repaired after that storm was the hood and grill since they weren’t on the pickup yet when the second storm hit. There was grapefruit sized hail at the dealer that night. His rental car also got hail damage so we’ll have to turn in that for a claim when we turn the car in. Our insurance company never answers the phone or emails, so I called another AllState office and since they answered right away, I movied our account to their office. That took 35 minutes to a call center. Sigh. Customer service, NOT …

I was toying with buying a new car that can serviced locally, but both of us kind of backed off that idea since my car has 18,000 miles and we both love driving it. I do need to buy new tires though.

Marty traded in one of his telescopes for a different one, so we ran to Denver to turn in the scope he’s trading and will wait for the new scope to get sent to the dealer. He still has another scope to use. He did get a better scope to take solar images with.

Take care.
Marcy

Hello lovelies

Been a busy week, Colin’s cartract procedure went well. We saw the Dr the day after, and he said the inside of his eye looked great but both eyes were extremely dry. It’s been a constant round of administering eye drops, with a follow up this Thursday to see if the right eye is ok to do next week.

Yikes @marcy, I do remember visiting our friends here one time and going to the supermarket with her. All the cars in the car park were covered in huge dents from a recent hail storm. I hope they can get the truck sorted out soon. Yep, landscapers charge a fortune. When we were looking to replace a tree out front, they wanted $700 just to deliver it  I’ve been enjoying all the photos you’ve been posting on FB. To the mooning deer.

Woohoo @MamaBee, it just proves that even in a slow market, a clean, well staged house will sell quickly. I’m so happy for you to be able to get the sale done quickly and with no fuss.

As Marcy said, once you start doing one thing in a home, it inevitably leads to more things @canuk-gal. Good luck with the work.

Woohoo @Missy congratulations on reaching 7000 miles this year. Ollie is such a handsome beastie, even if he is a little devil at times  Good score on finding 6 new dresses that fit so well, you’d look good in a potato sack!

 Happy retirement @Slickk!

I ended up spending nearly 2 hours on Saturday with Apple tech support. I got a new iPad, and for some reason, it just wouldn’t sync with the old one to transfer the data! I finally got it sorted, thank goodness.

Not much on the cards for this week, just the appt on Thursday.

:wavey:

HI:

@Slickk OH MY DID YOU RETIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOHOO CONGRATS!!! Well earned and deserved! Glad you didn't wait until the end of the year, when you know you know!

cheers--Sharon

Aww ladies … breaking my self-imposed ban to answer. I have not retired yet. The husband has though. I’m aiming for Christmas break or June at the latest as I’m several years younger.
So nice to see you @MamaBee ❤️
I’ve been babysitting lots and love the grand baby so so much. He really warms my heart.
I do follow along here but have been trying to stay away from it all.
Hi to all NIRDIs. :wavey:

Hi to all NIRDIs. :wavey:

Hello Lady! I have not retired either.....I renewed my license today. But one more year is all I think I have left in me. I may drop down to one day a week again....we'll see. WORKING IS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE lololol

Hello lovelies

Sorry @Slickk I thought you’d finally escaped the madhouse! Hope DH enjoys his retirement tho.

You’re a glutton for punishment @canuk-gal ! Have you had any more thoughts on a future cruise? Colin is getting lots of info together for our lovely neighbours who’re looking for a Greek island cruise. G is legally blind, and I isn’t very tech savvy - he’s in his element doing the research for them.

Just got back from a follow up with the eye Dr. It’s all looking good, and everything’s OK for the right eye to be done next Tuesday.

Nothing else happening here, be safe and well :wavey:

Got horrible news this morning, our friend John (in the UK) had a stroke yesterday :cry2:

Got horrible news this morning, our friend John (in the UK) had a stroke yesterday :cry2:

Oh NO! I hope he got treatment quickly to mitigate the injury! Healing vibes across the kms.......

Thanks @canuk-gal, a paramedic arrived quickly, followed by an ambulance. They’ve checked and he hasn’t had a brain bleed thankfully, and the paralysis was temporary. So lucky it wasn’t worse. My heart almost stopped when I saw the caller ID, I knew it was bad news.

It's scary! My Mom had both. First hemorrhagic due to labile hypertension. Then Ischemic many years later. Both caught and treated very early. Not fun at all.

GM girls and happy big and small dog Sunday

@MamaBee we already spoke but once again we are so happy for you. Meant to be woohoo. Hoping it goes as smoothly as silk from here on out XOXO

@Slickk soon! You are a trooper to be hanging in there...Greg is thinking of retiring but the health insurance issue for me remains front and center. Not near medicare yet and thanks to Obamacare we can no longer purchase PPO insurance in NY or NJ. Nanny states for sure and we pay dearly to live here. His work situation is ideal WFH and schedule wise but I am ready for him to retire because he is ready. So I get it. Big hugs and lots of love to you and your family and an extra hug to Bear

@canuk-gal hope you are not working too hard or too much and enjoying August which is speeding by. This summer is going way too fast

@Austina so sorry about your friend and glad he is making a recovery. Very scary. It brings to light what really matters in life. Sending you and him well wishes and good vibes. Thanks for the congrats on 7K...we are about 400 from 8K woohoo. Best wishes to Colin for his second cataract surgery XOXO

@marcy the wind here has been fierce too...our beaches were closed for a few days due to dangerous riptides from Erin..hope your weather is cooperating and all is well. Don't work too hard but as long as you enjoy it. Oh no about the damage to Marty's car and hope he loves his new telescope XOXO

@springerspaniel I cannot believe next weekend is Labor Day..hope you're enjoying summer to the max big hugs

@AGBF thank you for all your kind words and right back at ya...sending you love and light and only good things. I hope your DD is doing as well as possible XOXO

Hello everyone else. We are really racking up the cycling miles and we will hit 8K if weather cooperates within a week or so woohoo
We have been visiting friends and enjoying the great weather and this is the fastest summer on record for us lol. I mean it went by in what feels like a week. Record speed. One can only wish that winter goes by as fast

Leaving you with a partial retrospective of our past week
Enjoy a super Sunday...may it be as sweet as my sweet friends here

Love you girls. Be well. Enjoy.

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well summer is finally here!!!! I kid you not, we have only sun and fine temps in the forecast and NO RAIN!!!! Everything is lush here since we've had more than our fair share of rain. People can't complain about crispy lawns!!! Of course the leaves are turning color and falling, and the usual suspect trees that turn yellow early have done so since the end of July. I stuck my tongue out at them a month ago! LOL:cheeky::P2 I have an EST this Friday and an appt. with an IM mid Sept to go over the results of all the tests my GP ordered for me. I don't expect any surprises, but who knows.

@Missy the picture of that pooch was adorbs!! Puppies with stuff in their mouth just melt your heart. I continue to admire all the pooches along the paths. A couple of weeks ago we were carpet shopping and a couple parked next to us in their brand new HD motor bikes. Mom opened her carrier and out popped the cutest tiny pooch outfitted with goggles and a jean vest!! I died and of course HAD to go and admire her and she was so excited to see me; and we all had a good giggle. Yesterday, while out walking we saw a German Shephard in a carrier attached to a bike--all sizes get a ride! LUV them all!!!!

@Austina much success to Colin going in for his second eye surgery. We haven't made any decision about a cruise---except that we will go on one. LOL. We should just get a deposit in, then forget about it. And we are still looking for a house for my DS......

@marcy yes, you are correct about the domino effect about decorating. In fact my DH said, we need new window coverings........ Hope work remains enjoyable. Right now I work up to two days a week, and have had some time off this summer. There are some staffing changes at work, not sure if or how it will affect me.

Keep well peeps!!!! @mrs-b pop round would ya!

cheers--Sharon

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where is everyone???? I miss the posts!!! Wow I never thought this thread would wane........ ;(

It has been hot here--yay! Been cycling a lot, but I need to relax as my lady parts need a break! I walked to the park today and had black cherry ice cream. Devine!!! Made potato salad and will grill burgers for supper. Summer fare!!!

LOL It is our 40th anniversary and my DH told me to buy something from Graff. We watched a you tube video on Graff the other night--and he was impressed! Unfortunately the Tilda's Bow collection (favorite) is sold out in Vancouver and there isn't another Canadian store. So I'd have to go to the US or Europe and while that isn't a problem, the new tariff's are. I should prolly investigate exactly what the implications are. Our dollar exchange is bad enough without getting hit with more taxes. Anyway.

Had some good news here, our DS has changed jobs and it is a very good move for him. We are excited and nervous at the same time. Change is good, but can be nerve wracking.

That is all that is fit to print. Keep well peeps!

cheers--Sharon

Good morning lovely ladies and happy Labor Day Monday to those who celebrate

@canuk-gal HAPPY 40th anniversary! That is quite the milestone indeed. And yay great news about your DS too. I agree completely. Change can be very good but yes nerve-racking for sure. Sending you and your family many happy and well wishes. Lots of good things happening and I am so pleased for you XOXO

On a less good note I apologize to you sweet Sharon and anyone else who is feeling sad about this thread not being as active...I feel bad because I love you ladies and do not want to desert you. It's just at this point in time some people on PS (not the NIRDIs) turn my stomach and I don't want to lend support to pricescope. Being 100% truthful. The small and narrow minded brain washed thinking is a huge turnoff. It's really like people cannot think through the facts and see what is actually in front of their eyes. Critical thinking is dead here. I won't go into detail but I am sure you know what I am talking about. So my compromise is to post occasionally and not leave entirely. Sharon, you are the only NIRDI whose contact info I do not have :( My PS email (never use it but made it just for PS) is missy from ps at g mail dot com. Just abbreviate and put it all together no spaces. If you want but if you don't I totally understand. You are my friend not just on pricescope but in real life and I will always feel that way. In the meantime, for now. I am still here but not as often.

Good morning @Slickk @Austina @springerspaniel @marcy @MamaBee and everyone else. So much going on and I cannot catch you all up but just a few highlights. We hit 8K miles the other day on the bike and yesterday we reached over 8,200 miles woohoo! We have been cycling daily and our miles are racking up. This is a record for us as we have never reached this many miles in August. My goal is 10K and if the autumn weather cooperates we will reach that goal. Fingers crossed

Bobby was finally diagnosed with diabetes so we started him on insulin last week. Praying this helps his quality of life and he seems knock wood pretty good at the moment. We have been catching up with friends both furry and human and enjoying lots of ice cream, cycling and gorgeous weather. Our weather could not be better and most of August was pretty spectacular weather wise. No complaints here. Just gratitude and the weather is what allowed us to reach over 8,000 miles to date

Wishing you all a wonderful Monday...may it be as marvelous as you
((((((Hugs))))))

Hello lovelies

Happy Ruby anniversary @canuk-gal :appl:quite an achievement these days. Congratulations to DS on his new job, wishing him every success! Get on booking that cruise

Glad to hear all the kitties are doing well @Missy and that you have a diagnosis for Bobby. Woohoo on reaching 8000 miles what an achievement, so glad the weather has been cooperating for you. What a cute ‘nephew’ I hope alll is well with your Mum and Dad. Totally understand how you feel, it just isn’t the same here anymore.

Colin had his 2nd cataract done on Tuesday. We had to leave here at 6am, it was pitch black, but it all went well and we were back by 9am. He had a follow up appt the next day, and the Dr was happy. We have another appt on Friday.

On the downside, our friends won’t be coming in February, so we’re cancelling the cruise  J has been told there’s no issue with him flying, but he feels nervous, so we don’t want him getting stressed and it triggering an Addison’s episode. ATM he doesn’t know if he’ll feel up to coming again. Needless to say, we’re devastated, but his health is first and foremost.

Be safe and well lovely NIRDIs :wavey:

Thanks @canuk-gal, a paramedic arrived quickly, followed by an ambulance. They’ve checked and he hasn’t had a brain bleed thankfully, and the paralysis was temporary. So lucky it wasn’t worse. My heart almost stopped when I saw the caller ID, I knew it was bad news.

I am glad the damage will not be permanent. This is a good outcome for a stroke. I am sorry it happened.

I visited my best friend in Maine while my daughter (who just turned 33, but is mentally ill) went to Virginia to visit her father. I can never get away and my friend and I figured that it has been seven years since I saw her. (We figured this out by knowing which of her dogs I had never met and that dog has been with her for seven years.)

My friend used to have ten dogs. Some died; she got some new ones. Now she has seven and one cat who used to be wild. His name is Bobby and he is bonded with her elderly Pit Bull. Not only do they sleep together, but they do not like being separated during the day.

She also cares for her son's cats. he has moved in with her and her husband and has one disabled cat.

Plus they have a raven. He was wounded and cannot fly. My friend's son and husband healed his wounds and now he hops around happily in a big crate. (This is my friend who kept a chicken for 16 years after bringing her home from a state fair as a chick.) If they turned him over to bird rehabilitation he would be euthanized.

A few days ago my computer broke down and I had to get a new one. I was without a computer for a few days. Now I have to fix my washing machine, which leaks if I run it. I think that is all my exciting news. I wish all of you the best!

@canuk-gal, I’ve just come here to say goodbye, didn’t want to leave without letting you know I won’t be posting anymore. I’ve just spoken to Marcy who feels the same and wanted to let you know too and say goodbye. Missy has both of our email addresses and knows who we are on FB, so if you want to get in touch, please do, we’d like to carry on the friendship if you want to.

@MamaBee ditto to you, please ask Missy for our contact details if you want to get in touch.

I’m sickened by the way some people have reacted to a horrible tragedy, and this is a community I don’t want to belong to if people feel like that.
