Now I really did it :((

Hello lovelies

It’s certainly a juggling act for you to try and get your meds and supplements just so @missy, fingers crossed you can work it all out. Where would the economy be without us all doing our bit  ? Did you buy anything in particular?

What a spectacular view :kiss2:

I had a mega cooking day today, I’ve now got 16 meals in the freezer for when I don’t feel like cooking. Bolognese sauce, marinara sauce, chilli and a big lasagne and also some cauliflower soup.

We went in the pool this afternoon, but it was quite overcast. Of course, after we’d decided the get out, the grey skies cleared

Love the saying, and I couldn’t agree more!

Have a great weekend :wavey:

Good morning lovely ladies and happy Caturday Saturday!

@Austina yummm lasagna and that is a great idea. My mom used to do that for me when I first moved out since I didn't cook lol. Always delicious. Yay to enjoying the pool and I actually prefer overcast to full sun these days. My body does not like the full sun at all. I bought some more shoes and hats (I am loving hats) and another cycling jacket. And today I am online shopping for soft sheets. I manage to rip the fitted sheet after a few months. I think I am ordering ones that are too soft/thin and that's why that happens. We have extra king sheets but accessing them will not be fun this morning since they are behind a lot of other stuff in our linen closet. And yeah love that saying too. True true true. Hope you have a wonderful weekend XOXO

@Slickk happy weekend, have fun (((((Hugs))))

@springerspaniel hope you are having a good weekend and the weather is cooperating XOXO

@marcy hope you get some clear skies for more terrific photos XOXO

@Inked YAY!! May the good weather hold for you...(((Hugs)))

@canuk-gal happy weekend...hope you enjoy whatever you are doing and that your weather is behaving itself...have fun XOXO

@AGBF good morning! I miss seeing you here but understand completely...hope you have a wonderful weekend XOXO

Hello everyone else. Hope all is going smoothly.

We cycled yesterday and our free wheel (which Greg had just changed the day before) broke. During the first 7 miles of our ride so we had to head home where he replaced it and we headed back out and somehow we managed to cycle 70 miles despite that delay. It was a great day and not too hot. Yet still my body rebelled and I got a pretty large Schamberg outbreak. Feels like a sunburn. Not even sure how that happened because I was under the canopy and wearing SPF clothing and it was not that hot. Oh well.

Today more cycling yay. Hope you all enjoy a most wonderful weekend and have fun

Sweet treat mid ride

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Decent work week, whew! LOL. The weather has been hot, then cool, then TS with monsoon rains. The grass is very green!!! Lots of wildlife sightings in the hood and on the paths. We have been cycling and walking the parks. We are looking at cruises for our 40th anniversary, and are vacationing with family next week . Looking forward to that. And LOL we are shopping also, golf shifts for DH, a new swimsuit for me (old stuff no longer fits) and new Zwelling pans!

@missy sorry to hear you also have iron def anemia and weight loss. Hope you can find a workable solution for that. I've gained weight recently, so like Austina, I am happy to donate mine to you! We are still looking for properties for my DS. We have a very healthy budget, yet cannot find anything we want. Canada is........

@Austina I hope your roof leak was easily traceable and fixable. Much success to Colin on his upcoming eye surgery.

@Slickk hope your summer vacay is going well!!!!

cheers--Sharon

GM girls and happy big and small dog Sunday!

@canuk-gal aww thanks. You and Austina are sweet. I'll let you know lol I don't think I will have trouble I just have to pay attention and eat more calorically dense foods. It's the iron supplementing I am more concerned about due to all the potential interactions. I don't want to take two steps backwards with my other health conditions. It's really a delicate balancing act which I know you know being a healthcare professional. Nothing is easy is it. Certainly less so as time goes on it seems. But my motto one day at a time is the best I (we) can do I guess. And it sure beats the alternative. Though some days I wonder...(JK LOL)

Yay for your work going well this past week. That is a nice feeling. I always love the wildlife sightings...it's thrilling. Speaking of thrilling a cruise for your 40th anniversary sounds marvelous. Enjoy your family vacation this coming week..sounds like a lot of fun. Sweet on your shopping scores too.

Canada housing must be similar to housing in the tristate NYC area. The costs keep rising. It is incredibly expensive and I do not know how young people can afford to live here. If it wasn't for the feral cats I would consider moving because it cost of living in the area has become truly exorbitant. I worry for all the young people just starting out

@Slickk how is your weekend going? I hope you are enjoying and the weather so far has been cooperating yay

@marcy hope your weekend is going well and you are having a lovely time

@Austina hope your roof has been repaired and you are enjoying time in the pool relaxing

@springerspaniel good morning. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend

Hello everyone else. We enjoyed another wonderful cycling day yesterday and it was a family affair at the ice cream shoppe and it was a lovely ice cream break. Today more cycling yay. This upcoming week looks to be very hot and unsettled but one day at a time. Have a great day girls XOXO

Hello lovelies

More rain over the weekend!

Hope all the lovely NIRDIs are doing well.

We’ve got plants to plant, then to the dealer to get the car washed, yes, we’re still officially in drought conditions!

Have a great day :wavey:

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have been planning a cruise--gosh it takes A LOT of work! Glad we have a specialist helping. Trying to nail down details very soon. Off to the coast to visit my sister and her DH tomorrow. Looking forward to it--as it will be hot. All we have is rain and cool temps here--I rode alone today and it was pretty breezy  .

That's about it. Have a great weekend folks!!!

cheers--Sharon

Hi NIRDI’s!

@canuk-gal where are you going on your cruise? My in-laws love going on cruises. Have fun visiting your sister. We’re rainy here too.

@Austina seems like everyone is getting a lot of rain. Glad you’re out of drought there. We are close to that. We’re getting heavy rains and the downspout keeps digging holes in the rock we had put around the house.

@missy I sure hate to hear you need to gain weight and take so much medicine. Sometimes the medicines fight against each and give us two more side effects. And they are never cheap. I need to get back to my doctor for my BP meds. And of course there is still that right knee that needs attention. Did you get flooding there/

The floods have been frequent and bad in so many places.

Marty was coming home Friday night and ran in to ping-pong ball sized hail. Ford had his pickup for a day and it goes in next week for at least 15 days to fix. Ugh.

We were toying with buying me a new car and one that can serviced locally. Driving my car home today, I decided I can’t give it up. I like it too much. It’s liked deciding I want a new diamond or sapphire and buy it at the local mall because I don’t want the hassle of going out of town or mail ordering something.

Still working a lot. I binge watched the new Ballard series on Prime this weekend. Not bad. It follows the Bosch series if you watched it.

Take care.
Marcy

HI:

@marcy please don't give up the things you love. Cars, teddy bears, Omaha steaks. Life take A LOT out of us and we DO NOT work for nothing. Take it all in!

So sorry about the hail damage. I watched some horrific news reports on the local damage to home, cars, etc etc. Hail is brutal but winds also. Winds toppled HUGE senior trees. Glad we were spared, but that isn't always the case.

cheers--Sharon

Thanks @canuk-gal, that is perfect advice. I quickly realized I just couldn’t do it. It was funny, once I told Marty I wasn’t ready to give it up, he said he thought the same thing driving it home this morning. He said he’d miss the car. That’s why we work if for things we love. Hail and wind damage can be awful. I am glad you were spared. We got a weather station mounted on the observatory. Last week we had a wind gust at 75 mph.

GM girls and happy terrific Thursday!
It's been a good (albeit warm) week. We reached 5,000 miles on the bike a couple of days ago :)
And as you know I got approved for a new biologic so yay and hoping for delivery Saturday fingers crossed

@Austina yes we have been getting rain daily (mainly at night luckily) and I cannot believe you are still in drought conditions. I mean I do believe it and wouldn't be surprised if at some point we are there too. Despite the daily rain. Mother Nature has not been happy with any of us it seems. Glad you have garden plans and I know it will be gorgeous

@marcy I am with Sharon..never give up the things (or people of course) you love. Ugh to hail. We have had many thunderstorms this summer but luckily it usually happens at night. And wind gusts of 75 mph check. Living at the shore is not for the weak lol nor is living in Wyoming. Winds are no joke neither is hail. Glad you were both safe and may storms be few and far between and may you and your home remain safe. Mother Nature can be scary for sure. As for my being too thin the only upside is all my clothes still fit me lol. Gaining is not hard but I just have to be mindful. I eat a lot but I am very active. Very. I love working out and I love being on the go. I am like my parents when they were younger. Always on the go. No flooding for us thankfully. We are not in a flood zone despite being right on the water though our backyard did flood during Sandy. Thankfully no water got into the house during Sandy superstorm. Whew. But living on the water is not for the faInt of heart. We see all the weather events here and while Greg enjoys the show I admit I do not always. Since I worry for the feral cats. But they seem pretty savvy and I pray they all remain well and safe

@Slickk thank you for always being there for me and ditto. I cannot give them the satisfaction lol. What can I say :)
Yesterday's visit went well thanks for your good wishes. And congrats. Greg might follow suit we shall see..have a terrific Thursday

@canuk-gal glad you got to cycle but sorry about your weather. We are experiencing heat indices today of 105 and it is raining now so no cycling today. Which is why I have time to post lol. Yay for cruising...I love cruises but it has been decades since I have been on one. It is a great way to travel since you do not have to pack and unpack and repack again as you go to different locations. Have fun

Hello everyone else. We are doing well and enjoying summer despite the not amazing weather. Cycling. Seeing friends both furry and humans. And next week one of Greg's dearest and oldest friends is visiting and we are looking forward to it. We see them at least once if not twice a year. They live in South Carolina where the cost of living is much cheaper and I get tempted at times. Living here is crazy expensive. And carrying two homes in two of the most expensive places to live is a lot. Toying with selling our NYC home. One of our neighbors there is interested so we are considering it.

I am thinking daily multiple times a day of those poor texas children who died in the floods. Tragic beyond tragic :(

My nieces just got back from the cancer summer camp and they really love working with the children. My sister and BIL too. My oldest niece does not have a moment to breath as she is doing two internships this summer and she is basically working 7 days a week now until school starts end of August.

I know it's been a while since I posted and cannot remember everything that has happened. We are over 5100 miles (maybe 5200) on the bike. We have eaten a lot of ice cream lol. And just enjoying each day which is going way too fast. Living in the moment and appreciating the good and all the joy. We are all very lucky. And I appreciate each one of you and the friendship we share. I take nothing for granted... Wishing you a lovely Thursday. Stay well. Be cool. Enjoy XOXO

Hello lovelies

We’ve been busy in the garden and the pool!

@missy your nieces are such special girls, I’m glad they get a lot out of helping others, it can be a lot to cope with when you’re young like them, but to have such compassion, that’s amazing. So glad you’ve been able to get out and cycle, and seeing lots of wildlife too, that’s lovely. We saw a big deer coming home the other day, beautiful majestic creature. Not so the foxy that keeps leaving us ‘gifts’

@marcy live life to the fullest, and enjoy the fruits of your hard labour. You can’t take it with you, so drive fast (but within the speed limit:mrgreen:) and have fun in your car. I hope the weather cheers up so you don’t have to battle to stay upright. One time when we visited Bob & Shirley, I went shopping with her, and virtually every car in the car park had huge dents from the baseball sized hail they’d had.

How exciting @canuk-gal, where are you cruising to? Please ask if I can be of any help.

My left foot is so swollen from those pesky fire ants, they just love me :x2

We’re actually going out to tomorrow evening. While we were out mowing on Wednesday, our neighbours walked by and stopped to talk. We’ve spoken to them a few times, she’s originally from England. Anyway, they suggested going out for dinner, so we’re doing that! Twice in one week, we’re really living it up

Hopefully FT with our friends on Sunday.

Have a great weekend lovely NIRDIs.

:wavey:

Good morning lovely lovely ladies and happy Caturday Saturday!

@Austina oh my goodness, I am so sorry about your swollen foot and those darn fire ants :( The other day there was a HUGE ant in the house. I never saw one like this. I asked Greg but he didn't know what kind of ant either. I had to have him kill it unfortunately. I hate killing anything tbh even bugs now. If it's a spider or lady bug we safely remove it from the house. But some bugs we cannot remove like millipedes, centipedes and this huge freaky ant from the other day. But it makes me feel bad. Anyway I am very sorry about your foot and hope it heals very soon. I have zero experience with fire ants and would like to keep it that way. Thank you for your kind words about my nieces. Much appreciated. They are special girls and the more I see on social media the more I realize just how incredible they are. How nice you neighbors are from England and you are going out with them tonight...I hope you have a terrific time XOXO

@Slickk happy happy weekend sweet lady (((Hugs)))

@canuk-gal I hope you enjoy a wonderful weekend XOXO

@marcy good morning, hope to see more beautiful photos of yours soon (((Hugs)))

@springerspaniel happy weekend...hope you have fun plans and your weather cooperates XOXO

Hello everyone else. Hope all is well
We reached 5,250 miles on the bike yesterday
Not too shabby lol
The weather these past two days have been splendid. Not too humid and a nice wind to cool us as we cycle
Today more cycling we hope
And more ice cream pretty please
Rain is coming in later but unsure of timing.
Radar is always wrong for whatever reason but local conditions are hard to predict by the sea anyway

Jasper last night
He goes on top of and under the blanket all night lol
I am under the blanket on the couch

Sorry for the weird photo but it's not easy taking a photo while holding the blanket up with one hand and using the phone in the other and hoping Jasper cooperates
He's laying on top of me with both of us under the blanket warm and cozy comfy

Enjoy a sweet and harmonious weekend all
XOXO

GM girls and happy terrific Tuesday!

Some good news! I got my Tezspire delivery on Saturday and had my first injection Monday (nurse was like you have no fat to inject lol) and at this juncture I was approved for both Dupixent and Tezspire. Which is unusual and I am so thankful and now just hopeful it will work. I hope to be able to taper off Dupixent if Tezspire works. I have been feeling pretty good luckily despite the asthma and we are hitting 5,500 miles on the bike today woohoo. It's a busy week for us but mainly good busy with friends and happy occasions. Right now life is sweet :kiss2: and I hope it is for all of you too.

And it is another beautiful weather day today..heat coming back later this week but for now oh so lovely

I hope everyone is well @Slickk @marcy @Austina @canuk-gal @springerspaniel @MamaBee @Inked @Scandinavian and everyone else. This summer is shaping up to be wonderful despite the wacky weather we have been experiencing on and off starting this past spring.

This past Sunday was National Ice Cream Day and I made a quick collage for Jimmy :)

Hello lovelies

Woohoo @missy, so glad you got approved for the meds, at last something going your way without a huge battle. Yay to clocking up the miles on the bike.

We’ve been really busy working on the new flower bed. It’s hot and exhausting work. Started trenching for the interlocking brick edge this morning and I’ve done about half of it, but we needed to go out and get more bricks. Hopefully we’ve got enough for me to finish it tomorrow. Then we’ll have to get the landscapers matting down, and after that all the rocks. C next door has volunteered to take us in his truck to get the rocks, which will be a huge help.

Hope all the lovely NIRDIS are well :wavey:

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are ensconced in cold and wet weather. Record rain in July and the month isn't over yet. Bummer summer and everyone is complaining!!!!! Unusual but true. Our summers are our only salvation from the long months of winter temps and now, nothing. Brutal. + mosquitos.

Had a lovely visit to the coast with my sister. Some warm temps but not the hot weather we'd hoped for. Anyway they are gracious hosts and their new (vacation) home is spectacular and beyond.

@missy glad you got your new med--hopefully it does the trick! Cycle on!

@Austina laying your own paving brick--that is remarkable!! I'm sure the result will be wonderful. My DH has been researching cruises for several months--spread sheets and all. But I kept procrastinating. I agreed at the late hour--and of course inventory is sold off. There were one or two random rooms on some itineraries left, but my DH extravagant plans for trips on either ends of the cruise were just too much to book on short notice. So no cruise for this Sept or Oct. Looking at Explora. Seabourn an option but my sister had suggestions about that. At any rate, we'll take some sort of a trip for our 40th in Sept (Mexico City?) and put a down payment for a cruise to the med next year. Croatia looks nice. Provide any opinions you care to share!!!

Back to work tomorrow.

cheers--Sharon

GM girls and happy wonderful Wednesday!
I am in a huge rush this AM as we are cycling at 6AM which is in 20 minutes and I have to get ready but wanted to say good morning

@canuk-gal aw glad you had a wonderful visit with your sister and sorry the weather is not cooperating. It has been a not so great weather wise summer for sure everywhere it seems. Good luck going back to work and I hope it all goes well and have a great day

@Austina thank you so much. Wow I know your flower beds will be gorgeous but so much work for the beauty. Which I know you and your lovely neighbors will enjoy. I don't garden (black thumb here) but I appreciate a visual stunning garden. Greg loves to garden and our yard is lovely as I know yours is too. How nice your neighbor volunteered to help. I love that. Our neighbors are pretty great too. We are very lucky. Have a great day

@Slickk hope you are having a wonderful week

@springerspaniel hope all is going well

We reached 5500 miles on the bike yesterday woohoo
and this AM we are off cycling early because I have a pulmonology appointment with a new doc later today
Enjoy a wonderful Wednesday lovely ladies XOXO

Hello lovelies

How exciting @canuk-gal. Explora Journeys is the posh arm of MSC and about as far removed as you can get. It’s not considered ultra luxury because it’s not fully inclusive because excursions aren’t included. However, the ships are absolutely stunning, all new and very different design to traditional cruise ships. Their entry level cabins Ocean Terrace are really nice, and IMHO there’s no need to go for anything better unless you really want to splurge. OT1 are on deck 6, which is the perfect location, the lower down the better, less movement. The only caveat is don’t choose a cabin above Crema, because they have a smoking area and it can drift, but the other side is fine. The only difference between an OT1 and an OT4 is the location, for some reason they charge more for being on a higher deck! Not an advantage as far as we’re concerned. They have 4 restaurants and a buffet style restaurant. You can prebook Sakura and Marble, but the Med Yacht Club and Fil Rouge can only be booked once you log on to their website in the port terminal, or once on board. They also have a tasting menu restaurant (at an additional cost). You can find menus on line to see what’s on offer. Depending on the itinerary, the ship may not be full, but they certainly don’t feel crowded even when sailing near to capacity. If you want to do lots of excursions, it may be better to look at an all inclusive cruise line, like Regent or Silversea. Viking also offer included excursions, but our friends who’ve used them, didn’t rate the food particularly, although I understand their itineraries are good. We’re trying Regent in September, so I can give you a better idea of my thoughts afterwards. We’ve done lots of cruises with Oceania, which we’ve really enjoyed, but they don’t include drinks or excursions, unless they have a special promotion. Their prices have also risen to the point that Explora and now Regent are more competitive when you tot it all up. I’d suggest looking on YouTube, there are lots of great videos of the ships, restaurants and cabins.

Yay to 5500 miles on the bike @missy, you’ve really clocked up the miles this year ! Thanks for the vote of confidence, I’m doing my best, it won’t be perfect. I managed to finish getting the edging bricks down, I just wish we could grow all the pretty plants we had in England, but this heat and lack of water makes it impossible. If the Vitex we’ve planted do as well as the ones we put in last year, they’ll be covering the fences in no time.

Went in the pool this afternoon, the water was 92 degrees

Hoping to get the landscapers matting down tomorrow morning.

:wavey:

GM lovely ladies and happy Caturday Saturday!

@Austina hope the landscapers made it out and all is going smoothly and thanks for the congrats on the miles. More on that below. Yay for enjoying the pool...sweet especially this HOT summer

Hello @canuk-gal @Slickk @springerspaniel @marcy @MamaBee and everyone else. Hope you had a great week and are enjoying an even more wonderful weekend

We had a very good week. Busy and fun both. So that day I had the pulmonology appointment we went cycling at 6AM and got back at 10Am for my 11AM appointment. He spent 90 minutes with me. We got home after 1230 and were back on the bike at 1245 and that day we cycled a total of 101 miles. I asked Greg if it counted because we had a two and a half hour plus break since I had the doctor appointment and he said it counts. Woohoo. I say woohoo because believe it or not I never did a century ride. Greg has but the most I have cycled in one day before this was 85 miles on our upright tandem Calfee. So yay!

Screen Shot 2025-07-26 at 6.06.00 AM.png

We had great weather so that helped. But speaking of 100..this was yesterday, We went cycling at 6AM yesterday due to the heat and ran errands in the afternoon. And Greg accomplished two important work calls in between. Purrrrrrrfect

Screen Shot 2025-07-26 at 6.06.55 AM.png

But I digress

So we have been cycling daily sometimes very early at 6AM or at our regular time depending on the weather
Today is another cycling day but tomorrow all storms
We had some fierce storms last night but I think all the ferals are A OK thank goodness

In honor of Caturday Saturday last night this was the scene at our house lol
Gracie laying on me then with Jasper and then Oliver joined and everyone but Gracie repositioned. For an hour or so I had both Gracie and Jasper on me and remember they are arch enemies so that alone was a little miracle

And we went out with our dear friends who were visiting from out of town the other night and I chose a vegan restaurant I had never been to before and it was AMAZING!!!! We will be going back for sure. I don't take pics of the food but A and J said oh it's so pretty let's take a photo but we had already eaten quite a bit before they suggested it lol. Here are a few photos of the yummy food. Vegan. And I am the only vegan in the group and they LOVED it too

Screen Shot 2025-07-26 at 6.14.06 AM.png

LOL sorry not the best photos but just to illustrate how delish the food was...I cannot wait to go back. We want to treat N and P for all they have done for us especially being willing to come get us twice this summer when we broke down on the bike and Greg could not get us home. N drove all the way to get us and risked her car by squeezing our huge bike into the back. She is a doll. But I digress. This will be a great place to take them

Enjoy a most wonderful weekend all and in (advance) honor of big and small dog Sunday here you go...probably won't be back tomorrow so sharing now. XOXO

Have a super Caturday Saturday...have fun, be well, enjoy!!!

Hello lovelies

Phew it’s been a busy week!

Wow @Missy, even with a break, 100+ miles in a day is amazing! So glad the weather’s been cooperating for you. Hope you got the all clear from the pulmonologist. Yay to enjoying delicious food with your friends, how great to find a restaurant you like close by.

We finished putting the landscaper’s matting down and started hauling the bags of rocks - all 52 bags of them! Looks like we’re going to need another 52  C is taking Colin on Monday to load his truck so hopefully, it’ll all be done by next weekend.

We’re having a complete rest this weekend, we’re pooped.

Have a great weekend lovely NIRIDs :wavey:

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!!

I am miserable BC our weather is miserable. Record rain fall and cold temps. The heat kicks in!! Brutal. I could cry. We did cycle yesterday. It was humid. As an aside, we joined Costco--because it is 2025!! We were members decades ago, but I dropped it. I really cannot believe how much cheaper some items are!! Problem is I don't have a lot of space to store large quantities of stuff.

Everyone else is experiencing hot temps. @Austina thank you for the cruise info. We will book for next year--it was just too short a time to plan something for Sept Oct of this year. It seems like your landscaping is going well, I must admit I cannot believe you two are doing it yourselves; that is very heavy work.

@Missy good on your long ride!!! Keep it up!

cheers--Sharon

Hello lovelies

Happy to help in any way @canuk-gal. Yes, it’s hard work, but it’s exercise. TBH it’s mostly me, Colin is finding it tough going, he’s old  C took him this morning and they got another 42 bags of rocks, ( all they had) and we dumped them on the flower beds. I emptied all the bags this afternoon and spread them around. We’re going to need more rocks! Happy spending at Costco, they still have plenty of stuff you didn’t know you needed :D

Weather here is lovely and we had a very lazy weekend, spent a lot of time in the pool.

I hope you’ve all had a great weekend :wavey:

Come and join us @Daisys and Diamonds

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!!

Well well, the sun came out!!!! Pleasantly warm--not hot, but I'll take it. We cycled and DH had his favorite ice cream float. No calories there!!!! Of course I am working the next two days--when it is supposed to be warm and sunny. Anyway.

@Austina good for you on the yardwork! It is exercise for sure--don't hurt yourself. Too bad Adam isn't around to help, I'm sure you could use some. Anything changed in that situation--for the better?

@Missy glad you got your meds! Keep on cycling!!!!!

cheers--Sharon

Hello lovelies

No change @canuk-gal. We’re having a few days rest whilst they restock the stones, we wiped them out! Glad your weather’s improved, it’s in the 90’s here now!

Having a lazy couple of days, spending time in the pool and bumming around. off to trivia tonight.

Hope you’re all well, take care :wavey:

OK girls...I am offline soon. Just have to visit Mellow in the hair thread...have a terrific Thursday XOXO
Love you

Good morning girls! I almost cried when I logged in…I’m not kidding..I missed you guys..Since my diagnosis I get very mushy..hahaha It’s great to be here again. It took me a while to feel comfortable with my diagnosis but I’m in a good place emotionally now. I just had my infusion yesterday..I get one every eight weeks. It should keep me from attacks..fingers and toes crossed! I developed a close friendship (trauma bonding..haha) with another woman that has NMO. It really helped me feel less alone when I was first diagnosed. @Missy would check in with me..I can’t tell you how much that means to me Missy. ❤️

I’m going to need cliff notes to get some idea of what is going on with you all. I hope you can fill me in in what you guys have been up to..

We now live in Va to be near my son and family. Scott is our stand by guardian for David so we needed to be here. We don’t see them as much as we like because they both work..I also can’t be near them if they are sick..and they are always sick. They’re both cute boys. We should see them tomorrow so we have to save up our energy because they are rowdy!

We are selling our house in Maryland very soon. It was put on hold because I was not doing well..We ramped up getting it ready so it should be soon..TG
We’re keeping the house in Pa for a while. It’s so peaceful and quiet there. My mom’s grave is also there. I would feel like I’m deserting her. Chris also still lives near the house. He is doing so well. His job is in mobile crises intervention..Some of the people are very agitated but he can usually talk them down so the police don’t have to take them in handcuffs. He went back to school to be licensed in Pa. He’s been very effective in getting people placed in treatment. He is also specialist in PTSD. He’s been sober four years now.

David is David…haha..He’s with us 24/7 because we have been trying to get him settled in a work program. There’s not too much to offer him because we don’t want babysitting. They offered a day program. We toured it..No thanks..

As for jewelry..I did buy two or three things recently..I lost a simple art deco baguette band two years ago. It’s the one in my avatar..I had been obsessively looking for it around the Pa house…I think my husband threw it out with a paper towel. I found a close one..and after making myself crazy I purchased it. It really looks like nothing but it goes really well with my emerald cut three stone. I recently bought a gold cuban chain bracelet with five small diamonds. I should get it by Tuesday..

What’s going on with all of you? I will try to read back to catch up at least for recent events.

Big hugs!

Hello lovelies

I can’t tell you how great it is to hear from you again @MamaBee, you have been in my thoughts, and I hope all the good vibes winged their way to you! I’m glad you’ve found someone who can share the experience with, I hope it helps in some small way. Good luck with the house sale, fingers crossed it goes smoothly. That’s great news that Chris is doing so well, kudos to him for getting his life back on track, how’s his little kitty? I’m sorry you don’t get to see the grandchildren much, but your health is the priority, and hopefully as they age they’ll be less prone to the childhood nasties that are so prevalent. Are there any programmes that would be suitable for David, it would be so beneficial for him to have a little independence?

We have been busy with the garden and travelling. Several good deals have come our way, so we took them. :D Next month we’re doing a New England cruise, November a Caribbean cruise and we’ll be away for Christmas. Other than that, we’ve been plodding on with life.

We spoke to our friends this morning, and tomorrow we’re going to a fundraiser at the bar we got to for trivia.

Have a great weekend :wavey:

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Met friends for lunch and it was lovely as usual. Had my fav risotto and brought a big portion home--just too much. Then went to my fav french bakery close by and got some goodies and bread. Their dark sourdough rye is 2die4.

My dear friend got some gorgeous sunglasses and I tried them on and fell in love! Going to order some next week. I usually can't wear sunglasses (facial neuralgia) but these were SO light I couldn't even feel them on! They suited my face, so its a go! I'm excited!!

Nice out, then a huge TS blew thru..torrential rain and small hail: now it is sunny and calm again. Typical. I did cycle a bit this week, between work and appointments.

@MamaBee SO nice to hear from you!! You are missed! Glad you are feeling better and wish you much success in selling your home. Your family sounds well. I hope you find a program that suits David and allows for some independence.

@Austina I hope your pool is keeping you cool. @Missy keep up cycling!!!

cheers--Sharon
