Novice needs help

Hello all,

I have been looking for an engagement ring and have been able to put together a good idea of what she likes. I have been trying to educate myself but am a complete novice. I think I have narrowed it down to the following:

I like JamesAllen but worry about purchasing on line. I have contacted JA and asked for an ASET report. I would appreciate any opinions/help I could get. I know my love would like a "halo" type (North/South) setting which should help in protecting the marquise from chipping....I hope. Thanks in advance for all the help.

No worries about buying on-line from trusted vendors which JA is. I just had my stone reset with them...no problems. They also
have easy returns if the stone is not what you expected.

I like the first one you posted best however it is shallow. Not sure if it suffers from any adverse side effects due to it.
The H looks nice too but for some reason to me one end looks more rounded than the other. It's probably just the photography
but I would ask and make sure.
Not to fond of the G. Let me look to see if there are any you might not have seen.

What are you doing for a setting? What is your budget for the setting? Are you choosing a JA setting?

Thanks for the response. The one you liked the most, but are concerned that it might be shallow, (the E) is from out of the country. I asked JA for ASET but they said they couldn't do it due to its location.

As for the other one, (the G) I too thought it looked like one end was round compared to the other. I will ask JA.

Could you elaborate as to why you didn't like the third (H)? I am getting ASET for the G and H since the E is unavailable.

The setting for the ring would be in a halo of smaller diamonds. Here is the link to an example of the setting. The center diamond in the pic is only a .60 but the setting is what she likes.

Thoughts on the E from out of country? I'm in no hurry but don't want to miss one I like.

Thanks for your help and I'll await further advise.....Oh, I don't have to go with JA but I do like having the ability to see the diamond
