I''m new to this and everything I know was learned on this forum. Thanks for that, but I need some more help...
I''m down to two emerald cut stones... I would prefer the Ideal stone unless the dimensions of the larger stone would be noticeable, then I''d go with the bigger one. What do you think? Would there be a noticeable difference to the naked eye?

Carat: .73
Cut: Ideal
Color: D
Clarity: VS1
Polish: VG
Symmetry: VG
Depth: 64.3%
Table: 69%
Cutlet: Small
6.35 x 4.59 x 2.95mm

Carat: .87
Cut: VG
Color: D
Clarity: VS2
Polish: VG
Symmetry: VG
Depth: 62%
Table: 67%
Cutlet: None
6.61 x 4.81x 2.98mm

Hi, and welcome to PriceScope! The bigger stone will have a face up area that is roughly 10% larger. However, my guess would be that this is noticeable only when the two stones would be placed side by side, not on their own. Do you have the ability to look at these two in person side by side? Can you maybe have the vendor take a picture of them next to each other for you to compare? That would be the best way to do it. Post the pics if you can and we''ll help you decide further, but cut is always king here, so I''d go for the ideal cut, personally.

Who determined that one is "ideal" and the other is "vg" in cut?

John makes an important point, often these ' labels' don't mean very much where the cut quality of these diamonds are concerned. If you haven't seen these diamonds, and they are with an online vendor, ask for detailed photographs and preferably an ASET image to help your selections. If you have seen the diamonds in person, then see which your eyes prefer.
