I''m a fan of the tourmaline and the scissor-topped spinel. What are your favorites?

That .95 ct spinel looks like it''s cut from the same (similar?) rough as your asscher, merc. Though it doesn''t look perfectly round to me- am I the only one? Maybe it''s the way it was photographed.

When I have the funds, I''m going to ask Dan to cut me a ~7.5mm pale blue spinel, round or cushion cut.

I think the .95 is pinker than mine is. I''m not sure if it''s uneven or tilted funny in the photo.

Save your pennies Dani! I don''t think Freke''s grey was $$$, but it''s also a little darker in pictures than I''d like.

Yeah, I plan to! I really did just buy a wedding band though (coming soon!) and really can''t buy anything soon.

I hope that pile of rough holds out!

Thank you Freke, dear! It's still available, though - Dan said it read more blue than actually lavender, so I let it pass. I'm looking for purple to complete my "rainbow" - so he's cutting something for me over the weekend.

And possibly something else.

I sent him a pic of my rainbow, and he said he laughed, then thought "Yeah, she does need purple."
