Not sure what to do?

1.01 princess g SI2, .75 ctw channel set sidestones w/band, (princess) size 7.5- I am wondering if I should get thinner bands to compliment the center stone more. I have short, pudgy fingers and I am not sure if these look "right." (Even though I have had them for two years!) You comments and opinions are welcome!

i have really short fingers too and my first er was a channel set princess ring like yours. along with the matching wb that i didn''t get, it prop was just like yours. i also thought it was a little thick on my fingers with them both together. i had problems with that setting and when i got a new ring i went for a halo with a very thin shank that had just a little bit of pave in it. the shank is very thin, only about 2mm and the diamonds are only 1pt i think. the wb is equal in thickness and also prong set. i think having the channel set rings really increases the thick feeling, it did for me.

i also always keep my nails done now, longish nails always make my hands look longer, so i always keep them done!!

I think thinner bands always have the strong potential to set off the center stone more, but it''s really a matter of personal taste.....I agree with asserhalo_lover that channel settings certainly increase the thickness look/feel. I am usually not a fan of channel settings, but my first impression of your set before I even read through the post was "that is VERY pretty!". I''d be very torn.....I think your set is really nice, seems very proportionate (center-to-side stone wise). Have you tried on other styles that you are considering?

Yes, I have tried on some other styles. There are some that I LOVE and some that are OK...but I also LOVED this one when I first got it, wore it around for a bit and then realized that it seemed a bit thick. Most jewelers have told me that they wouldn''t touch it, they think it''s beautiful as is. However, I would have to talk DH into ANOTHER change (I''ve already changed it from a solitaire to channel set round to channel set princess)

I really like your wedding band. It looks like a perfect match to your e-ring mounting.

Instead of changing your diamond band, why not try your e-ring on with a couple of 2mm polished white gold bands as guard rings? Just for a different look. Maybe have an alternative look might help.

I think it comes down to personal taste. I think your set is beautiful, but I also found channel sets to be a little heavier in the way they look....and for some that is exactly what they want.
I had a channel set wband and recently had my plain plat ering and wband converted into micro pave and love the look.

Again, your set is beautiful, but if you are not happy then maybe trying something different is the way to go.

If you''re concerned with both rings together being too thick for your finger length, have you considered getting your e-ring diamond re-set into a solitaire with a very thin band and keeping your original wedding band. Then, you could use your original e-ring setting to set a colored stone to wear as a RHR!
