Hi everyone!

I have successfully found the stone (icy blue sapphire), had it nicely recut to a round brilliant, and now it''s time for setting.

I want something VERY SPECIFIC. Which is a no-prown, no bezel setting.

Here is my stone and the Stuart Moore setting I like.

I was wondering if anyone have some others in this style?

I like tension too. Just not sure a sapphire is hard enough for a true tension setting. Therefore I prefer a bridge.

Thanks!

Also, I found this type of minimal architechtual setting are often heavy to hold the stone (hense, not girly).

I don''t need a super girly ring but would be nice to not look like a ninja with some weapon on my finger. Thanks!

Monica, you are awesome! I love that!

Hi kitoto,

I love that Stuart Moore too. Agreed it is heavy-ish. Sapphire is strong enough to tension set, have you checked out Steven Kretchmer and Niessing ?

Here''s some from a designer called Diana Vincent.

still more.. I don''t know if you classify this bezel because of the under bezel..

I think the colors reflecting off the bridge will be outstanding! and really easy to keep your stone clean :)

sorry, am I missing something - I don''t know what a "prown" is..?

Kitoto and Angeline wow all rings are stunnin!
You girls rocks...yes I know the work of those designers

The only thing that makes me get worried is a nice set but the leave the stone unprotected, diamond and sapphire are very resistant, but just if you hit the right place you can get scrateches or even breake a side of the stone, I remind a PS user that posted her damaged diamond (that) was settle in a ring that didn''t provide protection.
But for sure I am still drooling for the rings both posted!

Hugs and a wishes of a great weekend!

That point at the stones is called: splitting or rupting (beg your pardon if I am wrong in writing it)

oh, ok..I thought it was some kinda technical term I was unaware of!

angeline, those rings are BEAUTIFUL. I really like the "2 in 1" and "half bezel" setting. I think I still want to stick with the idea of seperated rings and non-bezel but what you posted provides directions of creative ideas for my jeweler. thank you so much!

And angeline, yes, I meant "prong". Sorry for the misunderstanding. Is there anyway I could edit the title?

kitoto, I am glad you liked the rings. I love streamlined modern too (as well as pretty much every other style out there!)

By the way I knew you meant prong, it was arjunajane that was asking. I don''t know if there is any way to change it.

Love this profile! Who made it??

Kitoto- have you seen the stuart moore setting in person? i thought i wanted it as well but it''s one of the highest settings i''ve ever seen. too easy to bang up the stone. Also, they won''t sell you the setting alone. You''d need to purchase the stone from them.

Hi dreamer,

Diana Vincent makes this. Pearlmans carry it. Some really nice pieces.

hey elle,

I tried the Stuart Moore too and I agree, it is very high. Just a note, the SM in San Francisco will set your own stone, don''t know about anywhere else.

Hi Elle,

Yes I have. I also tried it on at the store. I only remembered that it''s kind of bulky but not remembered it''s high. Thanks for pointing it out. I''ll keep that in mind. Also, I am not going to ask them to sell me just the setting, it''s $4600 alone which I think it''s too pricey...

I have a jeweler working on this project with me. I specifically told him that I like the Stuart Moore style but he wants me to find more ideas to give him a better picture.

Your ring in the profile looks amazing! Could you share more pictures?

I came acrossed Gelin Abaci''s Tension Rings and grabs 4 settings that I like, specially TR-022.

I was wondering though, is there some common "cons" for these type of tension/bridge setting? Now I know that they are generally higher setting and the stone are exposed (not well protected). My biggest worry is that the sapphire is not as strong as a dimond and overtime it''ll wear-out and just wiggle and drop off one day??
