Hi, first time posting, and first time buyer. I need expert advice...
I''ve been eyeing on Niwaka for some time. Though their NY branch closed down, luckily I had a business trip to Japan so I visited their store there. I found the ring I like -- it''s called "Yui" and it literally translates to "the knot". The setting resembles a traditional Japanese knot.

Anyway, the issue I''m having is with their diamond prices. I need help understanding what makes them so expensive other than their brand name. Their catalogs state that they are very selective with their diamonds, specs with a tighter range than most excellent diamonds... here are the prices I''ve received so far. These are just diamond prices. The setting will cost an additional $1700. I used $1USD = 90JPY for conversion purposes...

I''m asking for GIA reports on some of these, hopefully they''ll send them to me. But from these prices, can anyone tell me which "C" controls the price the greatest? Are these prices "normal" of brand names like Niwaka, or are they completely out of control??!
I''ve asked about purchasing my own diamond and paying a penalty fee, but they don''t do that in Japan it seems. Btw, they have no idea when the NYC store will reopen...
Thanks in advance...
