Nickel Allergy Test Kit

Hi,
I purchased an 18K WG ring which is supposed to be alloyed with palladium and nickel-free. For peace of mind I would like to test it and have found many websites selling "Nickel Allergy Test Kits". example.
Does anyone have any experience using these kits? Do they work well? They claim not to damage jewelery, but if anyone can confirm this, I would appreciate it.

bump... anyway to test yourself to see if you have a nickel allergy? I heard you can tape a nickel to your arm. Do US nickels actually have nickel in them?
