next question: design help, whiteflash sierra

I think I found the diamond....now onto the setting. I love the whiteflash sierra head but I''m worried the band won''t look great on my finger (6.5). My current engagement ring is a trellis that tapers toward the diamond. Do you think the sierra head will look silly on a "cathedral" type shank. Will it mess with the "flow"? Any design suggestions welcome!!!

have you been to any jewelry stores to try on some rings in person? I would specially look for rings that have the cathedral arms and some that don''t. It''s really a matter of personal preference. I probably would not try to modify WF''s Sierra design by adding the cathedral arms, b/c personally I think it might be too much. But, i''m sure WF could do a cad for you if it''s something you really think you might want to do.

I love the Sierra just as it is. Why do you think it will look bad on your finger?

I''ve tried on a half round ring and wasn''t in love with the look--but it wasn''t the sierra

. It just made my finger look a little chubby--compared to the tapered shank of my current ring.

If you like the tapered band, see if WF can customize the Sierra. I have short size 6.75 fingers and they can look really stubby with some half round bands--others I love so it''s a tough call. basically, for me, anything over 3 mm makes me look stubby, but if it''s a 2 or 2.5 mm half round, and some 3mm halff rounds it still looks good...

I much prefer the tapered catherdral as i think it''s more flattering and elegant!

Bella-I hadn''t thought about thickness of the band before...thank you for bringing that up. I will try on some thinner bands and see if it does anything for me.

mani-I too find the cathedral elegant and flattering...but I can''t take my mind off of the sierra head.

Anybody else have an opinion?

My finger is the same sixe and I prefer a slightly thicker band and a cathedral. You gotta try them on though!
