Hi all:

Heading to Newport this month for a few days. I was wondering if people had recommendations for jewelers in the area. I’d also take areas around Newport as well. It’s my first time visiting so pretty excited.

Thanks!

There aren’t really many popular jewelers in the area. Some antique shops can be fun but generally anything in the area is overpriced. Are you looking for something in particular?

My advice would be to enjoy Newport, see all the mansions, do the boardwalk, enjoy a yummy dinner at the Mooring, but don’t look to do jewelry shopping there. PS has a great list of recommended vendors and you are way more likely to find exactly what you are looking for online vs in RI ;)

Hi! I live in RI and I agree with SimoneDi... there are a couple of jewelry stores, but nothing super exciting. You could take a look at House of Windsor for fun. Also, if you like antiques the armory antiques marketplace on Thames is a fun shop. They have some jewelry too. Again, nothing to go crazy over, but it’s fun to look. Newport is one of my favorite places! You will love it!! Make sure you take a drive on Ocean drive and check out sachuest beach in middletown. The mansions are a must see of course and the cliffwalk! Enjoy!!

Ah.. Newport, RI...
I used to fish squid on Goat Island Bridge during my college years..

Hi guys,

I just was asking from a browsing stand point...i like to do the research to get fun ideas is all. I have learned enough from you all if im buying im going with vendors from here and probably online.

Also, thank you for the suggestions, i know my friend who lives there gave us a list but of course i love ask all of you too! I'm pretty excited we are staying at hotel viking for a night and then my husband got us a townhouse suite at the mill street inn for my christmas gifts. After continuing to be sick for forever i told him really just wanted christmas ornaments, or travel. :)

I'm hoping to go back in the summer for the jazz festival and maybe stay at the grace vanderbilt or the castlehill inn. So this trip will be exactly as you all have noted just to enjoy the area, and browse around, eat and generally enjoy a cozy winter.

You've given me some good advice in the past. Plus im not doing any serious buying right now, I'm trying to be a restrained responsible person...until...i cant anymore haha.

I just figured fun to see in person. besides i know enough from you i'll be coming here and doing my online research when the time comes!
