Hey,

I am wondering what is the best way for someone to sell a diamond. I know that it is a bad idea to go into the local jewelry shop, so what are the other options?

The diamonds I am trying to trade are Argyle pinks and I am just looking for some options on the best way to sell them. I have done a bit of research it these seem a lot harder to sell than normal diamonds. Is that true?

They have insurance valuations, but they aren''t really very accurate are they.

Cheers,

James

A lot depends on the quality of their color, their weights, the beauty of the way they are cut. Some will be very rare, but many are not so rare as advertising tells us. Tiny diamonds don''t command much interest in the second hand market. Big, fine ones, most definitely do command lots of interest. Besides this, one must have documentation as to natural origin of color. Badly imperfect ones will have little market although they may look nice in a piece of jewelry. There are dozens of possible variables.

What sort of documentation do you have? Maybe we can offer you some further help.
