I'm in the process of ring shopping for my future fiancée and we have settled on a 3-stone Emerald cut ring.
I was thinking about 1.5ct for the center w/ .5 ct sides set in plat.
A jeweler friend has a GIA cert stone with the following stats:
G, SI1
Measurements: 8.03 x 5.98 x 3.77
Weight: 1.50 carats
Depth: 63%
Table: 77%
Girdle thin to thick
Finish: Polish: VG
Symmetry: Good
Fluorescence: None
I haven't been able to seen the stone yet, but he said its 'eye clear' and beautifully cut
He said that he could mount this stone with well matched .5 ct side stones in platinum. For $10K...
My questions are
a) Does this price seem fair?
b) Any thoughts on the Diamond for the center stone?
c) What would a good price for such a stone be?
d) The L:W on the stone is 1.35... Is this a bit thick? I like a nicely proportioned stone.
d) What size side stone typically look best with a 1.5 ct emerald
