Hi

Can anyone tell me how I can get a less expensive copy of Katie Holmes'' beautiful Edwardian 5ct oval split shank engagement ring (I don''t know how to attach a pic)? I LOVE HER RING.

I can pay about $7-800, and will sub pink sapphires for the pink diamonds, etc to bring down costs.
I have a 3.25 ct oval diamond already and just need a semimount.
any advice is appreciated.

I don''t mean to burst your bubble, but for only $7-800 you won''t have enough $ to purchase a nice ring like that IMO. I would save your $ up and wait till you have a few thousand, then you can find something similar. If you already have a 3.25 diamond, a crappy setting won''t be nice, it''ll just look tacky. On another note, Threepwood just got a morganite set into a ring inspired by Katie''s. You could try and ask her the details about hers.

Hi Noelle - The budget you have for the mounting is not enough. I paid $400 for a plain platinum solitaire mounting 3 years ago....so there's no way that budget is going to get you anything close to what you want. Wear the ring in a simple mounting for now and save your pennies so that you can have the ring made like you want. It will easily cost a couple thousand.

Hi again. Thanks for the advice. I feel like I''m a little over my head in this forum however!

2 or 3 grand is too much for me to pay--I paid less than 4 grand for the 3. 25 ct oval stone, which is enhanced BTW, and good enough for me- it''s beautiful and sparkly and huge, and what I could afford.
I see really nice semimounts on ebay all the time for less than $500 (just not the exact one I''m looking for), so I have to believe I can find mine for around the cost I''m willing to pay.
Anyway, I probably answered my own question..
