Hi Everyone.

I have been with my gf for over 8 years now and thought it was about time to propose :)

So I have been doing a lot of research here and found out some very useful information! I think I have found a stone but I have been looking for so long I think I am losing my mind. The price for diamond below was $7000. Please let me know what you think. If you think I can do better for my budget, I'd very much appreciate your feedback!

Looks like a pretty choice!

Request hearts pic retake to confirm the asymmetry is just photography issue. VS2 should be eyeclean face-up to the nitpickiest specifications, but you can always call and ask if you want more info or reassurance - tell them what you are looking for, clarity-wise (clean from 6" face-up? from the sides as well?) and have them check if the stone meets your requirements.

I should have mentioned but the hearts and arrow is not a must. This one just happened to be the on that was in my criteria.

Price: under 7500 for stone
Carat: over 1 (Why are you women so competitive? :) )
Color: Saw couple of Gs and Is and Hs in stores... couldn't tell them apart. So I guess "I" is fine.
Clarity: Must be completely eye clean. I know she will stare down at any imperfection while she is driving. This is a safety issue.
Cut: Must be GIA Ex or AGS 0.

I guess H&A is a bonus but definitely not a must.

Well men are just as "competitive" in other ways. Life is a competition!

Actually, I believe the psychology is this...if I have a bigger diamond than (insert name, relationship, whoever), that means my fiance'/husband loves me more than (reinsert name, relationship, whoever's) fiance'/husband does. Doesn't matter if it is true or not. Appearances are everything.

Or, some women (like most on this forum) just like to look at beautiful things! The bigger it is, the easier it is to see and adore! No competition at all, just a genuine love of beauty.
