Hi! I’ve been reading all that I can on pricescope but I’m still not confident yet about my decision to go ahead with a particulars diamond. Wondering if anyone could please help evaluate this ideal scope image? Would greatly appreciate your help as I am a total newbie :)

Will I definitely need an ASET image on top of this to determine more about this diamond?

Thanks in advance!

Also just - provide more info, here are the proportions:
Depth 62%
Table 58%
Crown Angle 35 degrees
pavilion 40.8
girdle 4%

Off the asset alone it looks to have leakage under the table.

Thanks for having a look. I was excited to have found a diamond with HCA under 2 and with excellent graded cut. But based on this leakage under the table do you think this would be quite detrimental to the beauty of the diamond? Is this a no-go?

I dunno. Have you seen it in person and liked it? Is it noticeably cheaper than other diamonds you're considering. Or noticeably larger? Why is this the only diamond option available?

I saw it on James Allen.

In terms of price it costs less than other diamonds within the same range:

Carat 2
Colour I
VVS1

Perhaps the light leakage is why this diamond costs less...

VVS seems very high to pair with an I color. Maybe look a bit more see if you can find a bit better cut with a bit less premium for clarity. What was the price of that?

USD16k for this diamond.

Hi EMiii! In my opinion, you could find a diamond with better proportions which will give you better light return. The higher table % and crown angle will create some leakage. If this were a much smaller diamond, you could possibly get away with the bit of leakage as the surface area isn't as great as a 2.0ct. Maybe open up your search to AGS ideal and maybe down to J color. If the proportions are right and the diamond is returning as much light as possible, the color will face up much whiter than what you imagine a J to be:) There are some great options out there for you:) Happy hunting!

Thanks so much Niel and Katie Homuth, you guys are all so helpful and it's really helping my hunt.

I guess my main concern with buying a diamond online and not seeing it in person is that it will show through too yellow / not bright enough / not eye clean etc so hence I was limiting the specifications range.

I have had a look at the diamond above Niel, I am now requesting ASET/Ideal Scope images for this.

In the meantime would it be possible if you could please take a look at this 2ct below.

I
VS1
Excellent Cut
Excellent Polish
Excellent Symmetry
Medium Fluorescence
Depth 61.5%
Table 57%
Pavilion 40.8 degrees, 43%
Crown 35 degrees, 15%
Girdle 3.5%

Would be grateful if someone could please take a look of the ASET image above - I am not sure whether the pink above counts as a 'ring of death'?
